TheOrsini
Although I have only released a few projects in the past, Skyrim is my personal favorite game-wise. I enjoyed Oblivion through the eyes of Obscuro and New Vegas through the nVamp team. This is merely a reference to my style of gameplay and challenge. If this doesn't meet your tastes, just ignore the thread. Otherwise, my intent is to outline and build a overhaul for Skyrim. It may take some time after the construction set is released to learn (hopefully) all the changes to the set. Either way, I look forward to completing this project. Project Title: Skyrim - The Icy WastesGenre: Major OverhaulConflict Possibility: Highly Likely Goals: Magic: Whether you argue with it or not, magic is underpowered in almost every Elder Scrolls game. Gonna up the numbers a bit, hopefully add some new spells from overhauls like Supreme Magicka. And then either increase the projectile speed or add aoe to assist with the aiming. Also going to make an overchanneling system, where as you hold the spell it gets more powerful (already in game) but in this one you don't cap out... you drain more magicka and fatigue, if you run out of both resources, you fizzle. Also, spell effectiveness will be re-added in. All current staffs will be converted to wands as that is how they really function. New staffs will be an off hand like a shield that can block and will have unenchanted version available to enchant with shield enchants. The ones that will be added ingame as drops will be similar in power and strength to those found within D&D 3rd Ed.Weapon Overhaul: Weapon Damage set up to be more realistic and challenging. Bows will have longer draw times for more damage with the fast draw perk reducing the speed to the current standard draw. Incorporating more weapons from the D&D / Pathfinder systems. Racially based weapons (NPCs will more likely have local weapons or an exotic weapon from their homeland.)Armor Overhaul: From changes to crafting to adding more variants, armor will be tweaked. Currently non-itemized, coming soon. Robes will be uniquely more suited for casters due to the spell effectiveness and the ability to enchant three enchants on them with the master perk instead of just two.Realism: Darker nights, darker dungeons, ambiance changes, perks will be modified to reflect some values. This includes pricing and availability. More clothing worn and available. Less comments about skills. Deadlier traps. More traps, more static leveled dungeons with some extremely dangerous for low characters. Leveling: Perks and leveling rates retweaked. City Enhancement: While they did a good job, the streets are far to clean. Basically, something similar to Better Cities from Oblivion. Also Diverse Guardsmen, each hold has different wealth sets. Economic overhaul: It'll be there, more fantasy / 13th century pricing. Vampire Overhaul: Full details soon. Lycanthropy Overhaul: Full detail soon + the disease. Dynamic Timescale Hardcore Needs: Eat, Drink, Sleep Weight Rebalance Fatigue overhaul: Basically, running without any fatigue drain at all makes using horses obsolete. Part of realism. Running will burn fatigue at 1/10 the rate of sprinting. New dungeons: Allowing for a new set of questlines. New Quests: Some repeatable, some one time. (Goal is fully voiced)) Creatures: Dangerous, angry, and some very powerful. More details after the construction set. Dragons: Immunity to their breath weapon element. Reskined and reclassified. Perhaps a frightful presence passive aura that doesn't affect the player since he's dragonborn. Also more dragon bones from dragons, but the refinement of bones and scales and selecting the quality will be its own mini-game in a way. LL changes: Dragons, creatures, group spawns, items, less Daedric things. Adding ingredients from previous games. Potion Limits: Based on Alchemy skill. New craftables: Salves with require linen + the alchemy ingrediants. Increase regeneration rates. Limit 1 effect at a time, does not conflict with Potion limits. Crafting Overhaul: There are bits of my idea across many docs. I will collect them, but the idea is big + variety + realistic + more materials. Using the linen cloth to make padding for armors, making robes, ect. Speech Overhaul: *I'm up for suggestions, but this skill just overall is a waste in my opinion. WARNING: At the outset of this project, your game guide may be used as tinder for a fire. At this stage: Designing the Overhauls What Can You Do? As this is conceptual at the moment, more input on ideas you think would benefit would be a good contribution. If you think that something is not a good idea, then shout out. Keep it constructive, I'll hear it all. Can I Help?Currently not taking volunteers at the moment since I've got a team of three real life buds working with me currently. This may change.
