Akaruz64
FIRST OF ALL SORRY FOR MY BAD ENGLISH IT'S NOT MY NATIVE LANGUAGE. I think that the MQ has no reward or title, After all, you went to Sovngard to stop a God-Dragon, and came back. and no one cares about it. you kill dragons to make sure the land is safe and you get what? 100 gold coins from a Jarl. No way!Heros need their rightfull renown and reward, At least in oblivion, you get an Armor set. So i was thinking and reading through the forum and will post this for any modder out there to get inspired or lend a hand. Dragon Castle House Mod The idea is to build a castle on top of a mountain. (not the greybeards one). lets say, the second tallest one on skyrim. with a lot of features and interactions with other mods. like the Eragon-books based one (im currenly reading the first one, but got all the four). Today I will only describe the Museum/Trophy room of this mod. This is a compile of ideas i found. some mine, some of others (sorry if i dont mention anyone) Before that, the idea is to get the castle as a reward of the Main Quest. maybe having a really difficult quest to get it. it also need to finish faction quest in order to unlock certain parts of the house. THIS CONTAIN SPOILERS!!!!!! CAUTION IF YOU DONT WANT TO SPOIL YOUR GAME. Ok let's begin: The entry door will have a Statue of Ysgramor where yo need to place Wuuthrad to gain entry to the rest of the museum (like the one in Ysgramor tomb. maybe the same statue). This is the first weapon "rack" going inside we will have different rooms for each faction "unique" items. the order is modders choice (this is only a sum of ideas) A Word of Power wall, showing every word you know glowing in blue, while learning them, shows them on the wall. Daedric gods scaled down statues were you place the corresponding artifacts that take place on the statue itself (like Ysgramor statue) ex. Azura's Statue shows in one hand a moon and in the other her star. the idea is, to show the moon as it actually does, but the star dont, so when you activate the star, it shows the real star on her hand, not a stone one. same for the other fifteen daedras. A dragon Priests Mask wall, like the real one, where you place the 9 to show them. A material-organized UNENCHANTED (REGULAR) weapon wall with mannequin to show the corresponding UNENCHANTED (REGULAR) armor, like the one in the Underground Hideout Mod for Fallout New Vegas. Some Stuffed animals area like the one in the Fighters Stronghold DLC for Oblivion. As present on the Underground Hideot Mod for Fallout New Vegas, The Trophy room part would be the most Significant misc items of the game you get by doing quest, to show them as trophy in this room when you complete each quest.ex. The Head of Alduin after you killed him, The Head of Paarthurnax after killing him, a miniature Eye of Magnus after beating College Quests, etc... Last idea is the most hard i find to explain, its a museum-like stand that when you "activate it" it will remove an "X" number of Dragon bones to form a actual dragon skeleton (like museum dinosaurs) so if you have 2 dragon bone, the stand will show only two bones, so it actually works like a puzzle, building itself when you "feed it" with dragon bones. (could also feed it whith scales and build its skin) so at the end you will get a stuffed dragon. Needless to say, an area with lots of mannequins, weapons racks, plaques and showcase for your custom, moded stuff to show. For the rest of the Castle, dont forget a Companion Wing/Area and maybe a mod where you can send them all to the castle. so you dont get to look for them in each city Kitchen, Master bedroom, Enchanting and Alchemy rooms and all the stuff you modders want. The Dragon Forge, like the skyforge, but a stone dragon instead of an eagle, that makes custom items or enchanted ones (like Lunar Forge). I would love an Eragon based Mod, where you raise your own dragon and get new shouts, your own gedwëi ignasia (shinning palm) etc... The castle should have a terrace like DragonsReach where you could have your own prisioner dragon, or using a Eragon Based mod, a landing zone for you and your dragon where you could even, equip him with an armor and all that stuff. Also a good idea would be to include all that dewmer tech around to make some pretty neat rooms. Well the rest its up to all the modders out there. I'm no modder myself , and dont have enough time for a large mod like this, but if nescesary ill be part of the developing team, mostly for the eragon mod, cause im reading the books and are pretty much better than the movie is. Please leave your opinion/comment/Idea so we can get 1 good house mod, not 100 that are equal and you got to choose wich is better or has things the other dont. Kunrokh
Well honestly your ideas sound a little hard. Since that they would require other mods to support this idea. Which makes it a lot of work in itself. But the idea should probally be tweaked a bit if you would actually want it out and get it to be successful. BUT I must admit you have some really nice ideas mostly, generally about the whole gameplay with the wall for masks and castle idea. tomhughes
Thought about an Eragon based mod and so put my ideas down: http://www.thenexusforums.com/index.php?/topic/480585-dragon-riders-of-skyrim-an-eragoninheritance-based-mod/
BinaryHe1ix
Honestly this sounds really awesome, especially the museum idea with the dragon skeleton. All things considered these things have been done in some way or another already, but they would just need to be adapted to Skyrim. The modder that created Underground Hideout would be more than capable of tackling this, I think, but he has said he's not interested in making a huge castle, rather he'd like a smaller compact home like UH was for Fallout. These would be difficult to the layman but for someone who's modded Oblivion and Fallout 3/NV I think this is definitely doable once the construction set is released.
