TKHawke
I would much enjoy an experience mod like the Oblivion XP mod found here http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=15619 but for Skyrim. I don't care much for the default leveling system of raising your skill levels to gain exp for overall character level. I feel it's pointless for me to kill some of the minor things like wolves and other wildlife and lose my arrows in the process if I'm not gaining much by it. I like the system killing things and gaining exp from anything I kill and then spending points to raise my skills and stats (health, magicka, stamina). Though I'd like to still 'look to the stars' to choose my perks. Edited November 29, 2011 by TKHawke

donker316
Yeah I totally want this mod as well. I know someone is making it but they are waiting for SKSE to add curtain things so they can add the features they want. Anyway can't wait I hate the default lvling system in skyrim. All good things take time I guess lol!
fraquar
I'm using a combination of 3 mods to do most of this right now. Community Uncapper - to control the speed of skill leveling for each skill independently relative to vanilla - and to extend the Level Cap for the core primary skills for a given build (done in an .INI file you can save for each build type you make)Skill Grinding Cap - to further reduce skill leveling after the 1st level gained in a given skill on that day, progressively nerfs the #$%^ out of that after you gain another level to the point you don't get any more XP until you sleep/24 hours pass. Works well to control skill glitches like Muffle, by limiting how much Illusion can level in 1 day (basically 3 levels max as you get 100% penalty after 3 levels).Non Combat Skills Dont Contribute to Player Level- SD script that can completely eliminate all Level XP from non-combat skills (while the skills can still level with Skill XP as normal). With Uncapper, you can extend your leveling in skills past 100 for the core skills that your player is built around to compensate for the loss of Leveling XP (perks) in the non-combat skills. Basically means, you only level when you are doing what your character is built to do - and those perk points you get for Level XP gained from skills past 100 can be applied to the non-combat skills later (or earlier in some cases) to round out your character. As for the gliches, well this can help reduce the severity of the glitch a lot when use repeatedly (especially once the Skill Grinding Cap takes hold). Better to just not do the glitches in the first place though. The only problem with the last mod other than it requiring SD is it bundles non-combat skills instead of letting you choose which skills to totally nerf Level XP with - i.e. Lockpicking and Pickpocket are in that group, where a Thief might not want XP from those nerfed.
