Skyrim.esm and Update.esm Missing

So I'm pretty new to the modding world of Skyrim even thought I play video games alot. I downloaded some mods and am trying to launch the game but it doesnt even get it to the menu screen before crashing. When I visit the plugin section of the NMM I noticed the Skyrim.esm file didnt have a check mark on it and I couldnt select it to add it back. Dont know if this is relevant but it seemed kind of inmportant, Thanks for any help you might be able to give. -Justvis

Skyrim.esm is the file that contains the game without it loaded you don't have nothing to do select all of the plugins and then use LOOT to sort them LOOT link: https://loot.github.io/
