Leon_101 Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 Not sure is this is an actual glitch but if i am perched on the very edge of a ledge, cliff, etc. and I aim down to a target below, when I shoot my arrow will always hit the ledge where i am standing, even if I can see a foot or more space between the crosshair and the edge of the ledge! On my screen my crosshair is completely clear, yet the arrow always hits the ledge where i would be standing and just falls straight down This is quite annoying when sneaking up on targets below me forcing me to jump down to find a less sharp angle. Is this normal? Anyone else have this problem or found a fix? Thanks - LN
darkblayd Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 In my experience yes, that's normal. Another design flaw courtesy of bethesda and their 11/11/11 release date. Hope someone fixes it.
ltlsiren Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 A classic bethesda glitch...Although I really thought it died with gamebyro engine, I was wrong.
shadow56 Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 I had the same problem which occurs if you are playing in 3rd person mode (Can see your character) which is the way I play. To fix it just switch to 1st person to take the shot and your arrow will not hit the ledge. There is also a problem with the sight being behind my character which blocks the target at times in 3rd person while sneaking. Again switching to 1st person to take the shot fixes it.
Leon_101 Posted November 29, 2011 Author Posted November 29, 2011 I have the same problem whether I am in 1st and 3rd person. Thanks still So there probably wont be any patch for it then :( ? Well, it doesn't hinder the game too much but it is annoying at times. If there are any mods or any other fixes for it though I would love to hear them! LN
domanz Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 Clipping generally is f-d up in this game. If the cursor is on your target, that's no warranty the arrow (or spell) will hit there. If you are too close to a wall or a beam, the arrow will be stuck in mid-air, if you are shooting down a ledge, the arrow hits an invisible wall. I wonder if this is necessary, can it be that hard to fix the physical presence of rocks and structures? There must be some kind of "hitbox"m, and it reaches beyond the visual representation ingame by far.
