If you haven't done this already, do it now.

 

Navigate to your Skyrim folder, right click on it, hit copy and then go and paste it in a folder of your choosing.

 

 

Then, if the patch breaks more than it fixes (been known to happen) you can whack Steam into offline mode and put things back the way the were without too much fuss.

slightly off topic, though somewhat related to the OP: can I do the reverse of this in order to apply the patch?

 

I no longer have access to the net on the comp I play on, but I can download the patch on my lap top. So if I want to apply the patch, just copy over the folder and it will work? Is there a better way I could do it?

I've already put Steam into offline mode, I'll let others test the patch.

Mine went into offline mode after the exe fiasco, thank gawd I'd made a backup :biggrin:

 

 

Patch ain't lookin good from a PS3 point of view :teehee:

Well this turned out to be the right thing to do, what a mess. :rolleyes:

 

You are correct, My friend. I thought I'd give it a go and now I can't save in game. I can play but as soon as I hit save it crashes without saving. My dissatisfaction is immeasurable. :sad: :mad:

Have you tried removing mods and verifying your game files? it might work. :confused:
