FOMM crash at start-up

Well,I saw the Nexus Mod Manager on the New Vegas Nexus,so I thought ''Why not?''. I downloaded and installed it,all with the basic paths. And now FOMM doesn't work. I uninstalled NMM,reinstalled FOMM 2 times in different directories,and restarted the computer a couple of times. When I try to launch FOMM it gives that message that a crash dump has been stored,and then the regular ''FOMM HAS STOPPED WORKING'' message.

Crashdump:

dinsdag 29 november 2011 - 7:17:39

Fomm 0.13.21

OS version: Microsoft Windows NT 6.1.7600.0

System.NullReferenceException: dinsdag 29 november 2011 - 7:17:39

Fomm 0.13.21

OS version: Microsoft Windows NT 6.1.7600.0

System.NullReferenceException: De objectverwijzing is niet op een exemplaar van een object ingesteld.

bij Fomm.PackageManager.ModInstallLog.InstallLog.InitMods()

bij Fomm.PackageManager.ModInstallLog.InstallLog.Load()

bij Fomm.PackageManager.ModInstallLog.InstallLog..ctor()

The De objectverwijzing is niet op een exemplaar van een object ingesteld means (translated with Google) Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

I had a similar issue recently. I ended up deleting local content via steam options and re downloading. All my content and mods came back perfectly and I'm back to fomm. I think it is some kind of folder permissions issue but honestly not sure. If you have skyrim or fo3 see if those launch via nmm or fomm (nmm launched my skyrim and fomm launched my fo3 but neither would launch fnv). Also, check if the steam launcher will still load the fnv. If it does, this may be a different issue than I had but your symptoms match and none of the usual troubleshooting worked for me either.

I've heard the problem is because FOMM and NMM simply doesn't work together.

When you launch NMM it edits a file which FOMM runs off of, which in turn makes FOMM not work. You're out of luck, you'll have to choose which launcher you want to use and uninstall the other.

Not sure why you would want to use both anyways?

I have NMM and FOMM installed and they run fine side by side. Also, the reason I use FOMM personally is because you can edit the install script and then test it without having to redo the archive every time you make a change, something which , sadly, you cannot do with NMM. NMM maybe great for a lot of things but FOMM is definitely more modder friendly IMO. I wouldn't want to actually install mods with FOMM though, that's where NMM comes in. Edited by HiggsBp
