tatsuya25
Hi there, Sorry if its been posted somewhere before. I couldnt find something anywhere. I cant seem to get SSAO working with Nvidia Inspector. Ive done everything from Tutorials but it still doesnt work... Could it be ENB Series that interferes with it? I have a Geforce GTX 580ti, so it should work w/o probs.
EvilHerbivore
I am having the same problem, only on a GTX 560. I have tried disabling all mods, tried both Performance, Quality and High Quality setting, and even tried Oblivion compatibility mode for SSAO. I've also tried enabling it both through the nVidia control panel and the nVidia Inspector. One strange thing I noticed is that nVidia Control Panel will only allow me to change the Skyrim settings when I disable "Show only programs found on this computer", which would suggest it's not aware of Skyrim being installed. But nVidia's guide here mentions that some may need to disable this setting, and does not mention that any problems should arise from it. Hope I'm not stealing the thread. I thought it would be better to post here, than to open a separate thread for what appears to be an identical problem.Any help much appreciated! tatsuya25
Thanks for your reply. I tried it, but without success  SSAO was already active in the Nvidia Control Panel, because i activated it in the Inspector but still no effect. Thats so weird. oZEPPELINo
Hey guys, I had the same issue this morning and after playing with it for a few hours I got it to work. Here's what I did: First of all, I could not get AO to work with the new nvidia drivers 290.36 control panel, this is using the nvidia inspector. -Add the TESV.exe to nvidia inspector, do not use the drop down list that contains "Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim" From here all or almost all the graphic options should be disabled. NOTE: If you use the 4GB Skyrim mod, then you must add this file to the profile we are about to create. -Go back to the nvidia top 5 tweaks article and change your settings to be exactly like theirs. -Launch Skyrim -Here's what messed me up and I'm still not 100% how to get around it. If the game throws the message to the effect of not being able to load some things and you might lose data; the game will load fine, but AO will not be enabled! If the game loads with no thrown message, then AO should be enabled. It seems like choosing "continue" over selecting a specific load file has less of a chance of throwing this message. Also, it looks like loading saves from after the effect was applied do not throw this message either. This has worked for me and I hope it works for you, best of luck! Cougar88889
I still can't get ambient occlusion working at all. I have trauled the internet and tried everything but nothing has worked. In Nvidia control panel I have Skyrim in the drop down menu but it has no icon just a blank window icon, I'm wondering if this has anything to do with it? I've tried a clean install of the 290.36 drivers but still nothing. HELP I really want AO in this game :( Here's what I mean:http://img577.imageshack.us/img577/1396/skyrimc.jpg
