1001 tips and tricks.

Is there a book like this that is made for computers? Little things that could make your life easier that are often overlooked or neglected? I'm new to the whole computer hobbyism and of course modding and I'm attempying to piece together my first machine. Tips like always make sure to backup or create a system restore or "when you're installing this, make sure to do this, it doesn't hurt." I would think you can never have too much cooling or a big enough power supply and I may be wrong but just stuff that can help you learn and keep the computer running as efficiently as possible.

I try to think of an analogy like something in a car. It's easy to get extra power by adding a nitrous kit but if you don't reinforce the bottom end the engine could get destroyed. I guess overclocking the processor could be seen as adding the nitrous but what is the bottom end that needs to be reinforced?
