Sheogorath

Since Shivering isle's ive always been quite the Sheogorath fan. I spent a lot of time role playing as Sheogorath in Oblivion. And he has since been my favourite Daedric prince, and it was simply pure epicness when he introduced himself as the champion of cyrodiil (me/us) in Skyrim.

and in lore it says that sheogorath has passed his title down to his champion for eternities.

therefore i hope that skyrim will be no different..and that we once will be able to become sheogorath here aswell. but that's only part of it.

i mean how awesome would it be that every game sheogorath is your foreigner?

for example, in TES: VI Sheogorath introduces himself as the dragonborn, bragging about he slayed this angry lizard (Alduin) 200 years ago.

and so on. in TES: VII he introduces himself as the hero from TES: VI

I atleast think this is a great idea. and belive we need something like this as a recurring event in the elder scroll games. cause imo TES lack recurring events, and should have a lot more of them.

I think the Shaeogorath thing is done. We've solved the Greymarch problem, and by all indications the Daedra who is Shaeogorath has completely consumed the Champion of Cyrodiil. His comment about 'Its a title i hand down to myself every few centuries' is likely a combined referance to the Greymarch, and the events in Shivering Isles.

A planar game may feature more about him, one where you journey to the planes of Oblivion and Aetheris, but i don't think we'll be becomming the old Nutters Scott again.

And personally, i wouldn't want to. Beat a dead horse too many times and it just gets old. Shaeogorath shouldn't become anything close to predictable.

well, thats the great part about TES games, if you dont wanna do something, dont. as for those who wanna do it, should have the opportunity.

That may sound well and good, but it falls appart when you actually test it.

What if people want to live in an Aircraft Carrier?

What if people want to go to outer space?

What if people want to play as a leprecaun?

TES is maintained by a story driven, consistant universe which follows particular rules. For instance, no one is advanced enough to build an Aircraft Carrier, there is no 'outer space' in the TES cosmology, and leprecauns don't exist. Just because people may WANT to do something doesn't mean it has any place in the canon game.

WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT! Aircraft Carrier??? Aircraft Carrier????? AIRCRAFT CARRIER??????? SERIOUSLY DUDE WHAT-THE-f***!!! I mean for real? "For instance, no one is advanced enough to build an Aircraft Carrier" Skyrim is in medieval times with some "medieval mythology" for instance: magic, BUT a f***ing AIRCRAFT CARRIER IS WAY WAY WAY WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY DIFFERENT, I mean what do you think Skyrim is, a f***ing futuristic style fps featuring an aircraft carrier or some sc-fi flight simulator of soe sorts? That does not have any basis whatsoever, NONE, ABSOLUTE ZERO, and OUTER SPACE? That is the same thing too don't you think? Ahhgh... Okay I was a little angry there because that was just absurd... But leprecaun... that's kinda cool actually and have a basis of some sort in what I call the "medieval mythology" and following the leprecaun example, why are there no REAL dwarves in Skyrim, because when I read that text from the loading screen... "Dwarf come from Dwelmer wich means "Deep-Elf" " I was so enraged, I mean seriously? Elfs?

Dwarves are elfs now? That is so stupid, but anyways that's my reply on your 3 "ideas"

Ok, you totally missed my point there. My point was that some things are right out, and have no place in the background, or the world. I picked two very obvious point, namely the Aircraft Carrier and Space, but was no way argueing that they SHOULD be there. In fact, i was argueing the complete opposite.

We know how the Shaeogorath dynamic works, and we're led to beleive that now he's take over the Champion of Cyrodiil and become more 'perminant', no longer suffering from the whole Greymarch fiasco. There is no reason to go back and constantly be him, and it doesn't do anything to serve the story. As such, it doesn't belong any more than a carrier or space travel.

Also, Dwarves have ALWAYS been elves. The Dwarf name comes from the fact the Giants were the ones who introduced men to the Dwemer, refering to them as dwarves, and it just kinda stuck. But then again, the Giants refer to everyone as Dwarves anyway.

And we don't need 'real' Dwarves. TES is its own fantasy world, its not some cheap LOTR and D&D rip off.

As of the actual point of this thread, yes, that's quite probably what being the prince of madness for over two hundred years does to you, one grows into this position, Champion being the prince of madness and all, mad, mad.. But although there would be no point becoming Sheogorath again, I for one would like to have some more Sheogorath in my Skyrim, getting to be the duke/duchess again wouldn't be too bad, and would fit me well, I'm already mad, mad as the Hatter I'd say.. Oh, and I like hats!

Dwemer are not dwarfes. They were not shorter than the average mer, or man, in todays TES. They were a race of elf, who preferd technology over magic.

Why would Beth bother repeating storylines when there is so many other things to explore? The point of including tidbits from older games is just to please the fans and create immersion.

So far Azura, Mehrunes Dagon and Sheogorath have had main questlines associated with them. That leaves plenty of other princes to explore. For those that have their favorites, each TES game has all (or most) of the princes in side quests.
