Have any of you guys actualy seen a dragon pick anyone up like it did in the E3 video when it picks the giant up? i have battled around 25 dragons now and not seen it happen..

Plus can dragons crash land anywere? or is it in scripted locations? so far they always seem to crash in the same location for me.

Dragons can, and DO crash land anywhere, but its only under certian circumstances. You have to drop them down below a certian point (i think its 10-15%) while their still in the air, and they will crash. I had one collide with a mountain side, then fall to its death. It was quite funny, actually. Particularly since i met the same fate trying to get down there to loot it...

As for picking people up, i've seen (and been killed by) the dragon's finisher where it goes all T-Rex from Jurassic Park on you... but i never saw this video so i can;t say if thats the one.

i have also seen the crash into mountain deth.. and its always in the same place..

The E3 demo had a player getting attacked by a giant and then a dragon swoops down and picks the giant up.. taking it into the air then droping it, im begining to wounder if it was 'false advertisment' on Beths part to make the dragon fights look more epic then they are.

Heck, during the tutorial/intro, when you get to the end and you have to decide who you're going to follow into the keep, look at the three archers on your left. The dragon will grab one of them and fly off with him.

Stand around long enough and you'll see it drop him, too.

The trick, I believe, is that it only does this to targets standing on walls, towers, or similar structures. I've yet to see a dragon just grab someone off the open ground and fly off with them. Why, I have no idea.

Thats most likely a scripted event though. He does it every time, and if you watch Alduin's flight path is the same every time you do that segment.

As for the false advertising thing, it's probably a case of cutting something out because it wasn't working properly. It may also be an issue with the AI not actually triggering the ability. Dragons are supposed to have shouts, for instance, but do you ever see them use one asside from their breath attack? We'll, of course, have to wait for the Construction Set to test that one, but as it stands i think its more of a limitation with the AI, or something they had to cut because it wasn't working right.

actually i have seen the dragon do it in open ground. he grabbed the storm cloak soldier and threw him about 20-25 feet from his mouth. when i saw that i thought it was awesome.. a dragon raided a storm cloak camp on the campaign of the civil war. he also killed another storm cloak by breathing fire on him...it took awhile to killl that dragon but i thought it was awesome.. i have also been fighting dragons where he bit me in his mouth, t-rex style.. and swung me like in the old skyrim videos. so it's not just a gimmick it just rarely happens
