hagyjalbeken
I had the same problem, tried to find it in the the ini, it might be not there. U have to find "Launcher" tab in the ini file, and just copy paste bEnableFileSelection=1 above the two other commands. The "data files" menu will be alvailble! Mods will still conflict. hagyjalbeken
I have to add it, bEnableFileSelection=1 even with a 0 was not there. So if u have the same problem, simply copypaste it above the two others under the "launcher" tab. Just like this.Data files menu wont be gray any more, and you can select the mods, i m not responsible for the other conflicts or whatever. hagyjalbeken
Find "launcher" in the ini file, it is a tab, its bethween colums... The ini file is is System/Documents/My Games/Skyrim it is called SkyrimPrefs. ini. Openit wit any editor u want, f3 is okay if u have total commander. U fibnd the "Launcher" section in the ini file, but u might not find anything related. Copy bEnableFileSelection=1 just as i i typed here, and paste it under the launcher tab. Now the "data files" menu wil be alvaible

Reisario
I had this same issue and found another site with some good info. Was able to correct the grayed out data files issue and load my mods no problem. http://tehparadox.com/forum/f18/%5Bskyrim%5D-data-files-disabled-i-cant-take-screenshots-3439500/
FrostAngel
Not typing wrong and getting the same problem. Have you tried my previous advice and checked both of the .ini files. There is one located in the main folder but there is another one located with the Save files. Mine defaulted (Win7) to Documents/My Games/Skyrim. Check that SkyrimPrefs.ini and make sure that reads the same. If you are still having problems after that, then I am fresh out of ideas. hey Jayce Rayne tanx a lot that's just fixed luncher after all this time tanx bro
viledarkness
this may seem dumb but it happend to fix my problem make sure that at the very bottem there is no extra lines bEnableFileSelection=1 should be the last line
AbbendisTheDragonBon
I'm having the same problem and its really irrating, i've unchecked the file properties for the "Reading" But didnt work, I put bEnableFileSelection=1 Under [Launcher], and still not working. I've watched soo many videos but they all say the same thing. I know i didn't do any typo's since i've checked my line and copied and pasted and even written it manually. I really wanna play hearthfire on skyrim. This may have not helped you, but i really need help with this. Do i need to download a new patch or something?
