ZombieElvis
Will there likely be a mod utility that allows us to change the looks of our character after we have created him/her? Thanks!
Shawkab
Will there likely be a mod utility that allows us to change the looks of our character after we have created him/her? Thanks! There is already a console command. SetPlayerRace. So yah.
Cipscis
I think you mean this:ShowRaceMenuBeware of changing your race in this menu, as it will muck up your skills and stats. It's also worth noting that you will have to re-apply the makeup-like settings, and most passive effects seem to be removed. I expect "player.SetRace" will let you safely change your race, although I haven't tested that. Cipscis
Knobody13
Using the race menu did not affect my stats or my perks, when i used it on my character. I believe some lazy wiki editors just copy pasted from the oblivion console command wikis.

It does mess up tranformations, I changed from Nord to Dark Elf and everytime I transform into werewolf I get changed back to a headless Nord when the transformation is overin order to fix it I have to use player.Setrace to change back to my Dark Elf
Cipscis
@Knobody13:Except that was never an issue in previous games. If I remember correctly, it will only mess up your stats if you also change your race. Cipscis

You had to save your game in the character editor and then load to keep your stats from being changed. When i checked last, the wiki for skyrim said that I should do this for skyrim and it didn't work. As for the werewolf thing, I am not one so i wouldn't know. Cipscis
Oh, I thought you were talking about the information most commonly given on these and the official forums - I haven't seen anyone trying to give that advice. It sounds like the wiki you were looking at is incorrect, but there are still issues with ShowRaceMenu in Skyrim. Cipscis
