Creosote999
After a discussion in another thread thought I would give it a go playing with no level ups, just to see what its like, and how viable it is. Playing on default Adept difficulty. After a couple of days I've killed a couple of dragons, got married, done some quests, doing Ulfric's quest tree, joined the Dark Brotherhood, smithed/enchanted some gear for money to buy heal potions, done some side quests, have the Malog Mace and DB armor, bought a house, and generally just playing as I would if I were levelling up. Of course the lack of perks, low level items everywhere, and levelled rewards for quests being no better than what I already have, is a bit errr.. unexciting. BUT on the upside its got me playing a more rounded character, first game I just tanked, now I am using Archery, Sneak, One handed, Light Armor, Destruction, Restoration, and actually thinking about how to take on the encounters rather than charging in. I'm exploring more and thinking more, rather than just trying to get the most badass weaps and armor. Using the well rested bonus, praying at temple for extra stamina, stuff I just didnt need to do first time around, now with such low HP's and Stamina I need those small helpers! That side I am enjoying. Of course there may be a show-stopper somewhere in the main quest line that I just cant win at Level 1. I am not for one moment suggesting that its a better game not levelling up, because it isnt, but it is different, and in some ways more fun (in an odd sort of way). I have no strategy on what quests I will do, think I will just take them as they come, and do some of the main quest line, and see what happens. BTW Not doing this to prove a point, or some pseudo hardcoring. Just had the itch to try it, and posting as it may be of interest to someone out there. frapfap
i did this in obilivion, beat all of obilivions main quests and guild quests and completed all of shimmering isles at lvl 1. in skyrim its prettymuch the same, but there are some things that are a specific difficulty so u cant do everything at lvl 1. but most of it you can Edited November 30, 2011 by frapfap
