voidsorter Posted November 30, 2011 Share Posted November 30, 2011 Hello everyone! I played many video games in my life, some if not most of them ended up being moded. The thing is I always used other people's mod, I never actually tried to do stuff for myself. The Fallout and Elder scrolls series are perhaps the heaviest moded games I have played. I decided to start learning a few things about this activity, and start doing some simple things at at first, so a few tips for a complete beginner are greatly appreciated. The tips I am looking for consist in: what programs must I use (I know the construction set is on its way, but there must be some other options until then), what must I learn about them, If I need to know some things about programming, etc. The first thing I would like to learn is how to modify in-game existing items, for example I would like to modify the Dark Brotherhood armors, leaving them totally enchantable or adding new blank sets to be enchanted, leaving the original ones intact. Even better, creating the option to craft new ones via blacksmith would be awesome, or adding the double sneak attack bonus from the gloves to be an enchantable option. Im sure there would be a formal tutorial somewhere. Plus if you really want to make your own stuff, youd have to get some modelling software and a visual editing software if im not mistaken. But if it is, i guess most mods will be made by using this kit and there will also be tutorials for it. You better just wait till you can download it and learn modding Skyrim by using it.
