How to add textures to an imported mesh?

I've imported a .obj file over a daedric 1h sword and got it into the game but have no idea how to apply textures to it.

I've found some lines in nifskope which are directed to the origonal daedricsword.dds which i've tried redirecting to the new texture and replacing the daedric texture with my own.

Neither methods have worked for the defuse map but the normal map appears to work.

Help? Thanks.

This should be as simple as changing all three of the .dds files that are for the sword to the names and file paths of your new textures. I believe your textures do have to be inside the \Data\textures folder, though I'm not 100% sure on this.

If it's not working, make sure you put the correct file paths in.

I have tried replacing the directory of the texture files in the nifskope file to textures>weapons>swordofaeons>swordofaeons.dds but that didn't work. Plus instead of the directory starting from the textures file as is shows in the picture, It starts from the C drive.

I don't think that is an issue though because as I said i've tried it with the origonal directory as well and simply renamed my swordofaeons.dds file as the daedricsword.dds file.

Ive found that a normal .nif file has UV Sets but when I Paste a new model over it, it removes the UV Sets, I think this is why I can't add textures to the model.. any idea how to add UV Sets in nifskope?
