bobbintb
anytime i try to go to the fort it crashes. i can go to ceasars tent however. i tried disabling all mods, disabling all autosaves, fast traveling as well as using the consol to "coc" and "player.moveto". still just crashing to the desktop. i have no idea what is even causing the crash. any help? GrindedStone
uh... load your save game, go to the raft that travels to the fort, save the game. Jump in the water, an swim to the bottom, wait for the character to die. Once dead the game will automaticly reload your the last save that you just made. Then try to travel to the fort, save the game when you get there, play on.

GrindedStone
If it were me I would just load the save game, exit to main menu, then load the save game again, an keep doing that until it doesn't crash then save the game there, an keep playing. You can also enter the settings menu in game an slide the master volume slider all the way down, then load a save game an try to travel there to rule out sound issues. After that I would say you should start a new game then play until you are outside the doctors house, open the console an type TMM 1 to toggle map markers, then fast travel to the fort by using it's map marker. This will show if the issue is from a partial or fully corupted save game or if it's a hard issue with your computer configuration. You could also try master update with FNV edit though you would need to have mods that are in .esp form, then also it would be experimental at best. You could wait/sleep 3 days in-game an try to go back. You could revert back to a privious save game an try. Using mods there are cases where one mod deletes something, then a mod loading later on changes that deleted item, which causes a instant crash anytime that is loaded. Navmesh issues will also cause this, and also partial an fully corupted havok data and/or savegame. I've also heard of non-persistant refrences for collision or trigger markers, this has to do with how quickly an at what priority these primitive shapes are dealt with by the CPU there's some mod that sets them all to persistant an higher priority as a way to avoid crashes, look for patch fix mods for FNV.
