Rain water collection

Had a look but I dont think this had been done yet.

 

Basically collects water when raining, could be made into 2 types, a portable one you can place down anywhere (like all the camping equipment) and a larger one for settlements perhaps?

 

Minimal items required to build like Wood/Steel, Leather/Plastic and a bucket or something.

 

Could either collect dirty or purified water after x hours of rain. Yield possibly dependent on light or heavy rain.

 

I might be able to write the scripts and stuff for this, it's just I have zero experience making models.

This is a good idea, and I've seen that set up out there when I was wondering around.


There are issues however, with Rad Storms - i would imagine that would make irradiated water.

 

 

Perhaps there can be a 2-stage process? These collect water, (dirty, irradiated) and then you'd purify it in some way.

Heck with rad-storm rain water you could even get some Nuclear Material out of it (like 1 N.M / Storm)

You could put some sort of a simple filter under the tarpaulin, crafted from plastic, cloth and Abraxo or something. Or, the collected water flows into a Solar Still. That would mean that the sun has to shine after the rain first before you get your water, but it's something.

They have a photo-sensative perk, so the mechanics are there for solar powered.
