chordyz
Hi all. I'm very new to modding so have kept the number of mods I'm installing relatively low. Basically, when I try to exit a dungeon (via open: Skyrim at a door) or open the map, I get a CTD. I fiddled a bit following advice on these forums and on reddit support forums and have only succeeding in getting a CTD when I try to load save games, now. Computer specs are: Novatech Laptop, Nvidia GTX 970M, 16GB RAM, Intel Core i7-6700HQ CPU @ 2.60GHz, Windows 7 64-Bit. Current Mod load order: 0 0 Skyrim.esm 1 1 Update.esm 2 2 Dawnguard.esm 3 3 HearthFires.esm 4 4 Dragonborn.esm 5 5 RSkyrimChildren.esm 6 6 WM Flora Fixes.esp 7 7 SkyTEST-RealisticAnimals&Predators.esm 8 8 Campfire.esm 9 9 HighResTexturePack01.esp10 a HighResTexturePack02.esp11 b HighResTexturePack03.esp12 c SkyUI.esp13 d RaceMenu.esp14 e RaceMenuPlugin.esp15 f AMatterOfTime.esp16 10 FreckleMania.esp17 11 RSChildren - Complete.esp18 12 Tamriel Reloaded HD.esp19 13 JKs Skyrim.esp20 14 Complete Alchemy & Cooking Overhaul.esp21 15 Dogs-of-Skyrim.esp22 16 Hunterborn.esp23 17 TheEyesOfBeauty.esp24 18 Purewaters.esp25 19 BHWarPaints.esp26 1a ogDiverseDragons2.esp27 1b KS Hairdo's.esp28 1c FNIS.esp29 1d XPMSE.esp30 1e Alternate Start - Live Another Life.esp Bashed Patch, 0.esp I also have the Tamriel Reloaded ENB installed, with the latest enbdev files (the d3d9.dll and enbhost.exe) installed in the correct location (I think? - got it under programme files -> skyrim) I've had all sorts of problems getting things to load - lots of blue environments with no characters showing, exteriors not loading, etc. I only installed skyrim yesterday and this is my first time playing it on PC so really on a learning curve right now. If anyone can point me in the right direction of where on earth I need to start, let me know? Cheers

chordyz
Hi, thanks for the reply. I've tried a lot of the fixes recommended here (either before you posted, or after your instruction), all it seems to be doing is messing things up more. I've tried installing a new skeleton as was suggested in another thread to fix the ASLaL CTD issue with using the bed/exiting to skyrim - didn't fix the problem. I turned off AA and AF as was suggested in a different thread to that in order to not get a blank blue environment in racemenu, so now my character and interiors actually show up (but when things are still loading, it's all still blue). I went through my .ini files (including downloading the SKSE ini, because for some reason that didn't exist). I've gone through LOOT, Wryebash, TSE5edit, NMM, MO, etc. and my load order doesn't appear to be an issue, but TES5edit is basically a huge parade of orange, red, and pink and I have no idea what I've done wrong or how to fix it, because everything I've done so far following tutorials online has just made things worse. For reference, here's some screenshots of what's actually going on: http://imgur.com/tNsy5T6http://imgur.com/iOaSaY4 It's crashing either the second I activate the bed at the start of ASLaL playthrough, or the second it finishes loading. Otherwise, no problems, as far as I can tell.
Darkstyler35
<It's crashing either the second I activate the bed at the start of ASLaL playthrough> aah this is interresting. Deactivate your ENB and then, test the bed. If it worked, check this guide and make sure your ENB is correctly configured. If this didn't work, read the LAL troubleshooting spoiler on the overview page. Don't worry too much on the colours in Tes5edit, it's how the program works, (load order / conflict looser - winner). If you install a patch such as USLEEP, loaded not far from the masters, I bet you most of the mods you will load after will overwrite some of it's entries. In this case, you may use the guide I posted above to make a bashed patch, merged patch and eventually, a patch between two or more mods. <but when things are still loading, it's all still blue> what you describe is missing textures. Either you have a VRAM problem, (check if your specs can handle your 2k textures), either your vanilla bsa are corrupted, (Verify gamecache.) either you have a mod that load meshes pointing to textures that are missing = check if this mod is correctly installed. If it's a mod, do a selective loading : untick 50% of your mods, beginning by the end of your load order and test in game. Then depending on if the problem occurs again or not, increase / decrease the remaining loading mods to find the culprit. Once you know the mod, do a manual install and if it doesn't work, also a manual download, as explained in this topic for Immersive armors. Darkstyler35
Another tip for the bed CTD = CTD in a particular cell / location, another possibility that your ENB may crash the game.
chordyz
Okay. Deactivated all mods just to try it out, and managed to get to the point where you have to enter the keep with Hadvar or Ralof. Went up to the door, and didn't even get to press 'open' before it CTD. Starting to think it might be my base games/the DLC that is the problem?
Darkstyler35
The problem with the bed seems to be managed, what have you done exactly ? When you say "deactivated all mods", you have also deactivated your ENB right ? If you deactivated all your mods and crashed while trying to go in a cell, you may have some orphan scripts remaining in your savegame.
chordyz
Well, the problem with the bed has been managed because I disabled the ASLaL mod, along with all the others—including the ENB, yes. I booted up Skyrim again with no mods enabled and activated, so in as close to a Vanilla state as I can get it without a fresh install, started a new game, and got to the point where I had to go to another area and it crashed. So it can't be a corrupted save or an issue with orphan scripts, surely?

So it can't be a corrupted save or an issue with orphan scripts, surely?> you're right. Are you using the skse patch ? If so, make sure your skse doesn't contain too high values. Check your skse.ini. C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Skyrim\Data\SKSE\SKSE.ini Preferably, use crash fixes with the UseOSAllocators=1 instead of skse memory patch.
