audioave10
Why, oh why did they force Steam for a moddable game? I knew this was trouble. Non-Steam exe. here too. So much for "just set Steam to offline mode".
Beriallord
I decided I'm never going to update via steam, the game originally made you register the game through them, fine, that is done, which means I am done with steam as far as skyrim is concerned. I'll get my patches elsewhere.
tazmo
so, revert back to pre patch 1.2 files and the TESV.exe above should work....anyone tried this? and success/I hope so as I am SICK of steam, every time i buy a decent game (Deus EX human revolution for example) low and behold steam have their greedy little mits in it..! Freydis
I was really hoping there would be some way to permanently disable Steam after installing the game. My internet connection is through satellite (WildBlue)....not cable, wireless or "whatever". So to frantically pull out my cord just because Bethesda decided to insist you update patches via Steam instead of on your own is ridiculous. Well, I downloaded the TESV file in preparation for when I buy the game later.
AxleB
This might be a little late, and i don't know how relevant it might be, but making backups of the entire skyrim folder in steamapps, and then overwriting the updated files will trick steam into thinking it's up to date, and let you play as normal (even if you use cff for the 4 gb, though verfiying game files will undo this obviously). I personally had a problem with my 360 button mapping being messed up after they fixed the keyboard bindings and this was the easiest solution. So, i guess i should also ask, is 1.3 worth updating to? I've been sticking with 1.1.21.0 (the devil you know, right?).
