Xerophthalmia
I'm trying to create a weapon for Fallout 4. There is a tutorial but it seems to be for an older version of Blender, so it's pretty hard to know exactly what to do when not very familiar with Blender. Here's a link to the tutorial. I modelled the weapon in Rhino and exported it to Blender and I'm now trying to add a uv map. Is there a newer tutorial somewhere? It doesn't matter it it's a video or in text form. xNxmod
To create a new weapon you need Blender (or 3ds)gimp (or photoshop)nifskopeoutfit studiocreation kit Make the mesh and uv with blender and export as obj, do the texture with gimp, import the obj in outfit studio and export as .nif, "clean" the .nif in nifskope, import in creation kit. Search also fallout 4 modding tutorial on mod talk forum area, there you can found a lot of info.

StuykGaming
Thank you! Edit: Should I add a collision object in blender? You cannot add collision to objects in Blender.
Xerophthalmia
Thank you! Edit: Should I add a collision object in blender? You cannot add collision to objects in Blender. Okay, that's good to know. In what program would you typically add collisions to objects? My first try crashed when hovering over the weapon in the pipboy but that was to expected since I'm not really sure what I'm doing. Tried following the steps from this video but obviously it didn't work. I will keep looking and see if I can find any information that can be helpful. xNxmod
For the collision try to use the box from a vanilla weapon.About the crash are you sure its because the collision?
Xerophthalmia
For the collision try to use the box from a vanilla weapon.About the crash are you sure its because the collision? No, not at all. Since this is my first attempt at making a custom weapon I have to start from scratch learning all the steps, so there could be all sorts of reasons why the first attempt made the game crash. For now I've sticked to the things I know how to do, like creating standalone versions of vanilla armor with my own textures. I'm also comfortable with 3d modelling (Rhino and SketchUp), but all the other stuff I have to learn. In short, I want to use this mod but with my own custom sword. It's a big sword so the animation would have to be changed to a two-handed weapon like the board. Other than that nothing have to be changed really.
