bart0nboy
It bugs me how the only real interaction that you ever get to do with a settler is when they first arrive at your settlement. You only get to pick one thing to say to them, then you are done. From that point on all you can do is trade gear with themor go into Build Mode and assign them jobs while they just ramble on about how you got a dangerous look about you. So I was wondering if it would be possible to make settlers more interactable. I've even noticed they say certain lines that couldbe used and have it figured out in my head. When you ring the bell to call the settlers, they always say things like "Whats going on?"or "What do you need". This could be used for when you start a conversation with them. So it would be like this:When you first interact with them your character will greet them with a "Hey there" or "Hello".They will then respond with "Whats going on?"/"What do you need?"Then you will get 4 options. Unassigned/Farmer Settlers/Guards: Assign is the same as when they first arrive. This would let you assign them jobs without having to enter Build Mode, similar to how you direct companions. No dialogue needed for this one. Talk would repeat the "Is there anything you need?" bit from when you first meet them. If your settlement is lacking anything, they will let you know. Trade is obvious. Nevermind would just let you say "Nevermind" and end the conversation. Merchants: I'm not sure if changing these would be good or not. Possibly have either the food/bar or general merchant have a "Rumor"option like some of the wandering traders you meet. That is about all I have so far. Would love to hear comments or feedback on this.
