So why not release a version without the Steam Workshop button for the people that don't want the ruddy thing? THIS is why people are getting angry. Bethesda care more about the darned Steam Workshop button than allowing modders to fix what they seem to be unwilling to do, like broken quests.

That statement implies that the integration is something superficial rather than a properly integrated progyam dynamic.

For instance, including a button that says "Upload file" is something totally different to an option to "Save to Steamworkshop". The former simply uploads a finished file onto the database, while the latter would require the ability to dynamicly interact with a stored file, potentially from multipul locations. As such, i would have to be incorporated into the data compiling and recal codes of the program its self, wheras the former example can be a simple activation process for a subsidiary program.

a lot of this depends strictly on how they are implementing the Steamworkshop. Releasing two completely different versions, particularly when they have already commited to using Steam, is asking for trouble, not just practical but also legal.

I'd rather wait for the CK than end up on the perpherals of a legal battle. Then again, i tend to be a patient sort, so i guess i don't mesh with the modern culture of entitlement.

Whaaaat? Why would there be a legal battle if they released a non-Steam version of the CK as well as a Steam version? That really makes no sense. Unless you really do have an inside track with Steam and know something we don't. And I really do not see why my statement implied that the integration is something superficial, you really are splitting hairs. There will undoubtedly be some kind of button/dropdown menu to click on, since the upload will not be automatic. From what Gstaff told me it is completely optional whether or not to upload to Steam Workshop, I have stated this numerous times, therefore, I am actually bright enough to realise that this means logically that when you click File-> Save for your plugin, there will have to be multiple options. After all, if you are any kind of a modder you want to save to your own Skyrim data directory and test the thing before you upload. Not to mention pack any needed meshes, textures etc with it. Or if you are just making a fix for yourself, you might not want to upload it anywhere, period.

And stop talking about entitlement, and read what is being said. I for one want the CK to try and fix the - lost count of how many - broken quests that Bethesda show no inclination to mend.
