suicidalcat
For W7 and Vista: TRY THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK. YOU BREAK, YOUR PROBLEM. 1.) Preferably using a 3rd party firewall or advanced bandwidth monitor, deny steam any upload or download. Steam itself loves to ignore you when you ask for no autoupdates etc.2.) Go to ...Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim and on TESV.exe right click>properties>Previous Versions and revert to most recent.3.) Go to ...Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim\Data and on Skyrim - Interface.bsa right click>properties>Previous Versions and revert to most recent.4.) If you had an edited SkyrimPrefs.ini and adjust it back to what what you had prior. (In case you can't remember iPresentInterval=0 for vsync off)5.) If your steam hangs when trying to boot it or flat out refuses to boot Skyrim look at using 4GB fix to boot it.6.) If you are still having issues go here and download the file and replace your update.esm. That should solve any W7/Vista issues Source 1 Many thanks to trollmarSource 2 Many thanks to Softpedia For XP (I cannot vouch for anything here as I have not got xp and hence haven't tested this) see source 2 above.
