Modding ambient sounds

I wanted to make the winds and gusts louder in my game without turning up all the other sounds, and had some questions. This is my first time ever making a mod.

 

I used BSA unpacker to extract the sounds bsa, and I found the files of interest (gusts and winds). I have to double check but let's assume I have the right ones for now. Next I was going to use Audacity to tweak their volume. Now comes the part I'm confused about. Should I be ok as long as I preserve the folder structure they came in? For example, if after extraction I found a wind file in "sound\fx\ambr", I'll drop my new louder file in a new "sound\fx\ambr" folder and then just copy that sound folder into the data folder. Should that work? Do I need to do anything else?

 

Also, this is more of an Audacity question but I've also never used that before. Is there a way to do a "batch" change volume or do I need to change them individually?
