Darksun45230
Bethesda, you mean to tell me that the Nords built an ancient stone-turning puzzle to protect themselves from grave-robbers...and yet found it necessary to plaster the answer conveniently about the very chamber the puzzle is located in? It's a wonder there's anything left for the player to explore, what with the answers plastered every-which way. The Nords were either too dense for their own good or relied too heavily on their "security" to fend off intruders. Hence my suggestion: For modders to create puzzles that increase the variety and immersion of Skyrim's dungeons as well as encouraging exploration and attention to detail. * Indiana Jones styled puzzles *--> Boulders bounding down corridors.--> False walls revealing hidden keys or switches.--> Jumping puzzles that send players falling their deaths if failed (always in moderation.)--> Hidden messages written or hidden keys on ancient artifacts (ex: pottery.)--> Pushing obstacles (blocks/statues) to protect against projectiles (fire/arrows.) * REAL consequences *--> Being shot with poison whose only antidote is waiting behind a door locked by a puzzle.--> Dropped into a room with Draugar or a Frostbite Spider's nest.--> Dropped into a Necromancer's/Nordic lair where players must solve the puzzle to escape while fending off the infinitely reviving Undead/Draugar.--> Dropped into ancient Nordic ritual chamber where the only means of escape is murdering other grave-robbers.--> Almost invisible pressure plates (not the obvious ones scattered in the middle of dungeons.) Probably won't happen until we get our hands on that Creation Kit. Ideas, thoughts?
nuphorm
I agree, I'd love some more interesting puzzles. I think puzzles which require certain perks or abilities to solve them would be neat, e.g. using telekinesis to unblock collapsed passageways. Perhaps some water based puzzles too? I'm talking about the draugr who have an ugly habbit of coming back to life and creeping out of their burrial grounds at night. So those stone gate puzzles are there to make sure the dead wont leave their burrial crypts as they are impossible to open from the inside.
