bebliba
I agree, and the bodies should not disappear either, so that you could drag and stack (if you would) corpses into huge piles. I have made some amazing piles, and wished that I took some screen shots since all my work was for nothing and they disappear over time as new guards spawn I suspect. Not only that, but one should be free to dismember the bodies if they wish like in FO 3. I requested this mod but got not one reply. and free to burn them with torchesbonfire mod
Blazord
Until the CK is released I doubt this will be possible, I did find a mod that supposedly made all NPCs non-essential. But it was just a simple bat file which did the setessential command on all the npcs with that flag on them. My guess is that either the command is broken, or some npcs are made immune to it through scripting. I do agree however they made far far too many NPCs invincible. Did a lot of people have problems with the Morrowind system, where the game told you if you killed a storyline NPC? I personally loved that system where no one was beyond reproach. Yeah, I got that bat file you're talking about too but it doesn't work due to the entire command string being broken. The only essential character that actually dies is that Imperial soldier living in Riverwood (fogot his name). Every single essential character but him, oddly enough, won't die. I've spent over 8 hours straight going to each individual Kingdom, land, points of interest and the Riverwood guy was the only one that could be killed using the string command. So maybe it isn't broken but like you said, some (or all but one) NPC's are immune through scripting - which really sucks when you think about it. Unlike Fallout New Vegas where you could practically kill anyone, even for the main storylines and potentially get away with it.
