Frostflow Lighthouse response

I just found this lighthouse randomly while doing a Companions fetch quest. I saw the corpse as I walked in, and the journal. I never read the books in game, which I now fully know is a shame. But god damn, was it worth reading, and all subsequent journals/letters in that lighthouse. Man did this simple lighthouse "mini-quest" hit me emotionally(yeah I know, I don't usually talk like this). Maybe I'm in some weird mood, but that was...(thinks of a manly way of saying it) "like, emotionally touching as f***, or some s***." And just to rub it in my face, the game made it so there was an orange/pink sunrise with beautiful sunrise music playing right when I went to the top of the lighthouse to burn the father's remains. Best experience in the game so far after 150+ hours. Oh and the permanent 10% healing buff you get at the end was awesome too. Anyone else have a similar reaction? Edited by pyrofreak123

Yeah that was way cool. Except I carried Habd's bloody skull around forever until I realized he had to rest in the brazier. Couldn't drop it cuz it was a quest item. 5 pounds of skull and brain from the stomach of a Reaper in my pack. Yay me.

Edit: one of the childrens bloody notes (the girl I think) mentioned there were 'others' that had been dragged off. I remember thinking, "Oh man. I'm gonna see a pile." But I never did. I guess they were digested properly. Heh.

I found the lighthouse the other night and did everything, but I'm still carrying around the dad's head. Even ran through that woman's party (the one where you give your things to the man in Solitude to get inside for you) with the head in my inventory. No wonder no one seemed to miss me at the party...lol I had no idea I was supposed to burn it...glad I clicked your thread :)

It was an emotional quest, I agree with you on that. Actually, the word is horrifying at the beginning. Those ******* were making noises the entire time I was on the first floor. Creepy.

Yes, that was one of the very nice encounters and a very emotional. But wait, are you saying that Habd's Remains can be placed somewhere? I'm carrying these ever since.

Yeah, in the brazier at the top of the lighthouse. There's a decent loot chest up there too. His wife's journal (or one of them) actually says he would like to be placed to rest there when he dies to always look out upon Skyrim. But my retention level's terrible. Big 'doh' moment for me.

Perhaps I should start readin stuff ... So far I pick up stuff, smash some skulls, and finish the quest.

Looks like I've missed out on a few things.

Haha, I just stumbled upon this said lighthouse, TODAY!

I went in out of curiousity (maybe some cool person lived there, I don't know :D) and ofc... shock and horror! I read the diary (I read everything!)... And well damn. At the same time I got this creepy feeling. Then that scratching sound. As I continued into the chambers I just got more afraid tbh, was expecting a huge daedra to pop out a closet any second. First time I had this; it's the damn diaries, why are they so detailed! "The scratching is getting louder". Then I hear that damn sound again! Then I got sad, because it was this little cute family with the typical life problems who decided to come make a living here. So saddening. :/

After I finished it, I remembered reading in the diary that you had a beautiful view so I wanted to check it out and burned the body. Felt weird and good at the same time, I brought a form of justice. As I slammed that lighthouse door behind me, I kinda felt satisfied.

This is indeed, like somebody else in this post said, one of the tiny details/quests that makes Skyrim awesome. <3

Off topic, but same thing:

Was traveling on my mage today. Then I saw some clothes laying on a rock, near a water, and a dead girl floating there. I read a diary page, went something like: "Father say it is dangerous to go out but the forsworn are too busy with the war, so I think it is safe the take a swim!". Beside the dead, naked, body in the water, was 2 arrows.

.... Man, that was just sad! I went on a hunt after that moment. Finding and killing the damn guy who did this.

This game really got its moment!
