Child settlers & schools?

For added realism, imagine if the occasional settler brought a child with him? Makes sense, right?

I'd like to see a mod that does this. But it would require more than just adding the kids in. How about we give them a childhood?!

Create a school for them ... complete with a playground. With homemaker, you can add several decorations (including monkey bars and some sort of dome that I usually see on playgrounds). Adding these would boost the kids' happiness. But we should also give them a school. But this would not be mandatory ... just in case you don't have Homemaker.

But even if you don't have Homemaker, building a basketball court would improve the kids' happiness! Just place basketball goals (which are already available as vanilla decorations) on opposite ends of a 5x10 plot of wooden floors, and POOF! Instant basketball court!

See ... it just isn't right to assign the kids to resources like crops, and certainly not to defense posts. So instead, this mod would add two new objects to the mix: The "Student Desk" in the "furniture > seat" menu, and a "Blackboard" in the "Decorations > Wall Decorations" menu. Assign an adult to the blackboard (which, for the record, would be almost as wide as the flag decoration in the vanilla game, since that's how blackboards look irl), and she becomes a teacher. Assign a kid to a particular student desk, just the same way as you would assign them to a bed, and that becomes the kid's assigned seat. Each teacher can teach up to 30 students.

This, admittedly, would be best used alongside mods that increase maximum settler population, such as this one:

But that would be up to each gamer who downloads the mod, right?

Any takers?
