SkjoldBjorn
Before you start whining about this belonging to the suggestions forum please read the whole post, thank you! :) Ok so i have been playing Skyrim a lot...to much to be honest, but im having fun while playing it so let's just forget about how much time i spend in this game and focus on everything we can do to improve our gaming experience.1. Alternative Quiver Apparances: As a hybrid between melee and ranged assassin i sometimes feel there is something missing (no im not talking about correcting the finnish move where you cut your victims eyes out), alternative quiver apparances! You may ask what i mean about that, do i want to make customized quivers for the game? No not at all! Infact i just want have the freedom of choice in which quiver i want to hang on my back, so as a newbie modder i want to know if this is possible. So far i have been thinking about this: - Quiver Apparance is a players choice! You can choose what kind of quiver you want no matter what arrows you use.- Quivers drops from archer enemies, with or without the arrows you should be able to equip it- Quivers can also of course be bought from vendors or drops from chests- Craftable quivers with materials like leather and linen wraps and maybe some metal.2. Visible equiped weapons: As the basic idea very much is obvious i will however explain in depth what i mean here. Ok so you have noticed while you play when you switch for example from bow to melee only the quiver is left on your back and your bow goes invisible! my ideas here are simple:- Make all weapons equiped visible, are you using 2 daggers and a bow as a standard setup or maybe another hybrid? i aim to make all equiped weapons visible. ( see what i did darr?)- 2h sword and bow will be on the back together.- If possible make a shields go on the back and possibly replacing the quiver if you are not of the archer type.- For some reason mage staff weapons are hidden in your pockets when you seathe weapons if you have it equiped! NO! the staff should have it's rightful spot on the back, maybe replacing the 2 handed weapons. If you still do not know what i mean, check this post out, he figured out a glitch through the console command "ressurect" check the post out for more information. Thanks to EricTheLuminant for this one, this can work temporarely until we can have a more permanent fix on this :) 3. Animations: Yes the animations in Skyrim is bloody well done, even though they might be a little glitchy here and there, but i have a feeling that some of them are left out! This goes for both finnishing moves and the way some of the weapons are acting!- Daggers: For some reason you are running around doing slashing damage with your daggers when you are sneaking, i want this corrected, when you sneak the animation should perform a stabbing, not a sword cut! I know the finnishing move takes care of this sometimes which is great, and you can modify the % chances through the console, but we don't want to get tired of the finnishing move do we? (there is no backstab finnishing move for anything else than humanoids as far as i know) No there's gotta be another way, i know there is a stabbing animation in the game, but i think thats only for the two handed swords. (correct me if im wrong.) - Bow Finnishing moves: Ok i know this already have been mentioned and dearly missed by some, what if your finnishing move with a bow is an arrow in slowmo against the head? Werewolf eyes: Got this idea from "The Witcher", the main character there have predator-eyes and i was thinking why not have that as a side effect when you are a Lycanthrope? Not while you are in your wolf form of course, but in your humanoid form, be you elf, orc or man.I for one think this wold give a certain immersion, that you will feel more in touch with your beast in human form. Oh well thats about everything i could think of so far. Now just to make it clear, i do not intend to steal anyones ideas, this is something that came to my mind while playing and not taken by anyone elses ideas, so if you already got a similar idea, lets not start a flamewar hmm? If you thought of something similar feel free to link your post or write down your ideas here, also please give feedback on these ideas. As i said earlier, im a newbie modder, i did mod morrowind a lot, but that was way back in 2004 and i can barely remember how it all worked, but i will probably earn the knowledge back in no time, this project might seem a little over-ambitious indeed, but i will give it my best shot, maybe some of you even want to help out on this? So other modders, what is your take on this, think most of this is possible? Edited December 4, 2011 by Sk8on
