Drop Coins

Recommended Posts

I pretty much stopped looting because I have my perfect gear and no use for money, so it kinda get boring now.

It would be really nice if there was a mod that lets me drop coins, so I could have my own money bin.

I know it's pretty useless, but if somebody was bored enough and had the time to make that possible, it would be really cool :D

Solution:

Custom chest/bin container, graphically shows gold and maybe gems. Place one or two in a certain house.. whatever the most expensive house in the game is. Then just use it like an actual chest and drop your money and gems in.

It looks like you want, without running physics on 100,000 objects.

I believe if you just disabled the coins from having physics they would just float in the air. Not to mention it might be hard to make a mod that individually drops a gold pile.

This would be a good mod. I think Sagenth has the best idea.

To expand on it it should be a bit similar to the way the Harvest Containers mod worked for Oblivion. Basically you start with an empty chest and as the player fills it with coin. The model is swapped over for a quarter full chest, then half, well you get the idea. Obviously each treasure chest should have a limit and I suppose a script would determine what amount of coin would result in changing the model over.

At least thats how I think it would work in principle. Of course you'd need the CS and be able to script, something I'm useless at I might add.

I heard somebody say the display things have two objects involved with them, so these chests would be essentially the same thing. As I am pretty sure one is the base model and the other is a script object of some sort.

So I would propose this. The script has a bunch of logic determining the animation to use. The animation would be pretty simple. Make the chest have three or four components as follows

The chest itself

A Gold pile

A Gem pile

and amulets and rings version of a gold pile, that is amulets and rings mixed in with the gold.

The way it would work, hopefully this is possible but I don't know since I have no idea of the capabilities of the models in the game. Each component sits just beneath the chest which is presumably placed somewhere you can't look under it. Then as you add more gold and jewels into the chest those two piles rise up according to the script until eventually beginning to overflow or reaching a defined limit. These would be great for the thieves guild vault.

I don't know, again, if the models are capable of animations and or manipulations of this sort so if it is possible there is the solution, if not keep brainstorming.
