Too many crashes

Hello everyone!

I've taken advantage of the steam offer and bought FNV with all the DLCs, and i'm pretty happy with that. Then, i've started tampering with mods, remembering the good old days with Fallout 3 but probably i've done something wrong because i got an extremely buggy installation, that keeps CTD (i'm at the very beginning of the game, i just made the Ringo quest). I've installed these mods, using Nexus mod manager 0.12.11:

Project Nevada

3 flavors of american prewar money

a world of pain

better burned man

4Gb fallout

courier vault

enhanced blood textures

FNV archiveInvalidation Invalidated

Flashlight NVSE

NVSE

Hi-res world view weapon textures

MGs neat clutter retextures

more perks

NV Error corrections

New Vegas Bounties I

Nevada skies URWLified - nightsky variants

NMC texture pack medium + Patch

NV stutter remover

oHUD

RobCO Certified

The mod configuration menu

The weapon mod menu

uHUD

Cigarettes replacement

Type3M clothing

Vurt's wasteland flora overhaul

Better game performance

My pc specs are the following:

CPU: i7 sandybridge 2630

GPU: AMD 6970M

Ram: 4Gb DDR3

I noticed that some mods asked me to overwrite some files which were already installed by other mods, not sure if I answered always no and if i had to overwrite something besides readme files.

Hope someone of you can help me out, because I'm already loving this game and it would suck not being able to use those great mods that you keep making :(

Always overwrite unless you know what your doing.

I really hope that isnt your load order. Though its doubtful since you have NVSE in there. FOMM has a nifty load order report feature(and a BOSS sorter but Ive never used that.) I usually go by its advice and run very stable. Also you are using several performance enhancers. And I think a few of those cant be installed with a manager. Try disabling all "performance enhancers" and see what happens. Also those mods are something you should normally only use one of cause they like to screw each other up pretty bad.

I used nexus mod manager, I finally got it working and the automatic download feature is pretty comfortable to use. It should handle load order by its own, i didn't bother checking it...

Which are other performance enhancer mods? I count two (Better game performance and NV error corrections, and these two shouldn't be in conflict), but of course I might have missed some other that i haven't correctly recognized...

I noticed that after i installed Better game performance things went better and i didn't have all those nasty CTD i had before installing it, though i haven't completely eliminated them.

Ok, after some hours of play CTD have disappeared, I suffered a couple hangs (one particularly weird when I put on a NCR armor, couldn't get rid of the OK message that came up when you wear a faction cloth for the first time, I had to shut down the game from task manager...)

Now my doubt is about the various retexture mods i have installed, because I have noticed a couple glitches that shouldn't be there (like when i wear a couple clothes and after that only head and hands of the player are visible, the rest of the body just disappears... lol! ) Here's the list of the retexture mods i have intalled (they appear in that order in the modlist):

3 flavors of american prewar money

enhanced blood textures

hi-res world view weapon textures

MGs neat clutter retextures

nevada skies

NMCs texture pack MEDIUM

cigarettes replacement (this is not working even though is present in the plugins list as active)

type3M clothing

vurt's wasteland flora overhaul

Are there other mods that i should install? Also, are there some conflicing mods? I haven't installed those mods in that order of course, and several messages of overwriting existing files popped out during the various installations. As stated in a previous post, i should have answered always yes, but I remember I answered no at least a couple times. Could that be the cause of the glitches? Should i reinstall all the mods and say yes ecery time I am asked to?

Thanks for your help :)

4Gb fallout and the stutter remover and all the NVSE required mods are the most likely candidates for the crashing. Id start with 4GB fallout.

And yes reinstall all mods with yes to all everytime.

I already don't use 4Gb mod because it doesn't recognize my NSVE (probably I have to move the mod files to the main NV folder, right now they are into the data folder).

I'll try reinstalling the mods, thanks for your help :)

edit: i just forgot another issue i had the first time i loaded tha game. I installed advanced recon thermal nightvision mod, but the game just crashed upon loading everytime. Is that conflicting with project nevada mod which should have its own thermal nightvision helmet?

Usually no Thermal vision script are pretty simple actually(relatively) and dont mess with each other. Unless PN took the mod and directly incorporated it that shouldnt be the issue. When is it crashing on loading a save or starting the game? If its the latter then its probably a missing resources issue.

It's crashing on starting the game, just after the first screen appears. Is it possible to fix that?

Another (hopefully last  ) doubt i have when installing this mod: http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=39651 . In the download tab there are compatibility files (or at least i think they are compatibility files... ) for each single DLC, other than the mod itself. I have downloaded all of them (since i have all the DLCs), but when I activate them with Nexus mod manager it says "A new version of mod xxxx has been detected. The installed version is X, the new version is Y. Would you like to upgrade? No will install the mod normally." If i choose no for all the files, are they installed correctly?

Check the master files for thermal vision if you dont find anything your missing just remove the mod for now.

Yes just hit no unless your trying to completely replace an old version with a new version so in short with updates or compatibility files just hit no. If the new update for a file is not in update form and is a full version then you can hit yes.
