Deleted3305160User
Hello everyone,I've been wandering many days on this website and downloaded many mods for my Skyrim copy, however I feel like wanting to create my own. Something like one containing new weapons, for example, to share in a near future with the community. I looked for some modding tutorials, however I couldn't find what I needed: many of them look like to be for already-expert modders (from Fallout or Oblivion, maybe). Can someone suggest me a tutorial on how to create new weapons, please? I mean totally new.. not change the meshes for already existing ones. Thanks in advance and keep up the beautiful work M
DonKalleOne
i will say it to u now, 99% of the guys here are leecher.Of the 1% of the guys here 80% are busy now with their own work.FInding help here is kind of a luck thing. Im a total nuub (started a week ago) but i will help u some. What 3d tool are u using?I use Blender (its free adn works great) and simple weapons are made in 4 steps. A generall tipp for creating anything... make it large first so u can see the mesh lines.cause if u want to fuse two objects and teh meshes are sightly off ur new meshes will be a mess (a lot more polygons than u wanted, unneeded diagonal vertex etc). adn if ur using blender there are more than enough tuts on youtube. after roughly a half day i manage to create this http://i.imgur.com/wcTnr.png its not that hard when ur simple at start...and its lot of try adn error Some Generall search help.BooleanSubsurfUV mapping Edited December 3, 2011 by DonKalleOne
Deleted3305160User
Thanks for your help! This was very helpful. StephanePare
Hmm, i was hoping to do my own mod as well, but 100% changing data values, basivally changing the formula determining prices for player crafted stuff, and how much xp is needed to level which skills. Somehow it looks like tessnip requires fallout3 from what i heard, do i have any other options as to what software to use? I can learn a lot by experimenting myself once i know what to use, altough having omething pre-compiled would help
PowderdToastMan
When the construction set comes out, esp modding will be available along with bethesda's tutorial for it and you will be able to mae mods apart from meshes and textures, such as quests, houses, companions, editing data values, etc... Believe me, we're all holding our breath! Subscribe to the thread below and LHammonds will post when the CS is released for everyone to download. They're saying its gonna be january http://www.thenexusforums.com/index.php?/topic/469476-creation-kit-release-info/
