Oomo
Stop censoring the world. If your child is not old or mature enough to handle the adult world of Skyrim, don't give them a washed down version of the game. Give them a different game to play instead. Simple as that. How about you play the game your way, and we'll play it ours? Don't like blood removing mods then don't download them.
TotallyNotToastyFresh
If I had a child I'd be letting him play whatever he wants and help him learn his way through what is right and wrong, rather than make it seem okay and fun to go around killing people. These types of changes are stupid. And you seriously changed the word "mead"? Jesus, did my dad put a big white sticker on his bottle of beer when he was eating dinner when I was a kid so I didn't know what it was? If you don't want your kids exposed to his kind of stuff, then either sit next to them and explain the difference between virtual violence and the real thing, or don't let them play it. Besides, I grew up on violent videogames and people know me as the most docile person around.
Rukariouzu
I'm pretty sure that removing decapitation, close-up finishing moves, and blood would be the only things you need to include on this. The other parts should be optional, but really I don't see the reason in changing the names of alcohol and a simple thing such as underwear. Heaven forbid you change it to where you can disable homosexual marriage--That would personally anger me. -- If it were my kid, age 4 or not, I would still allow him to play Skyrim as the game itself. Sheltering from blood / violence / etc will only make them not able to comprehend and cope with it later on when they do experienc it. My parents never sheltered anything I did; I learned for myself and I made my own mistakes and grew from them. Currently I don't get along with anyone my age because everyone's parents do some sort of sheltering... I find all of these teenagers extremely immature in their own senses. They don't realize what are actual issues and what are things they shouldn't worry about. If you're going to make this mod just to make it, again, I simply suggest the things in the first sentence of this post. Rabbit1251
As for the subject of alcohol children in the Middle Ages drank mead and ale just like the adults due to the water around the communities being so polluted. I was going to download the mod and have a look at it, but it appears to have been pulled. Rabbit
Syco21
If I had kids, I'd let em play Skyrim unmodified if they so desired. Hell, I taught my 2 year old nephew how to swear. I'm so proud of him.

Syco21
It is not kid friendly, for kids under 8-10, and is going to be removable from skyrim.Hell no, I've been playing violent games since I was 7 I played halo. I'm a f***ing pacifist now a days, you sound like those people who balem 911 on CS:sAnd you sound like a hypocrite. No offense, just calling it like I see it. Young, impassioned, impatient and quick to anger. It's adorable, really. But you still have a long ways to grow, kid. Last I checked, Skyrim was rated M. So if we're going to play the "violence isn't suitable for young audiences" game, well you fall right under that banner of people it's not suited for. Kalimni
I wouldn't currently let my children play skyrim as-is (assuming they were old enough to play a computer game)But with removal of decapitations, finishers, and blood decals, I would be fine. Violence is not the same thing as a bloody gruesome death, even if the result is the same. Think back to original Mario. You jump on a mushroom, you knew it was dead. It didn't require a massive blood splat to confirm it. I don't feel that removal of excess gore hurts the game any.As for the alcohol labels, I think the removal is unnecessary. I have beer in my fridge, rum in the cupboard, and vodka in my freezer. When they are old enough, my kids will know the rules regarding said beverages, and why they can't drink them. If you don't like the idea of self imposed censorship, don't down load the damn mod. I don't like Randy Savage, anime armor, 30ft swords, or looking at naked men, therefore I wont DL those mods. I'm not going to tell the authors not to make them just because I don't like it.
Syco21
Decapitations might scar young children. Young children might attempt to imitate finishing moves. But what's the logic behind removing blood? As for the last part of your post, I agree, absolutely! Choices are great, and if someone feels that mod is right for them or their kids, then that is there choice and it is good that they have that choice.
