luddemann
I usually just change colors, saturation etc when retexturing, but I really wanna make HD retexs now. How do you do that?
kitsuneshoujo
The way I do it is when redoing the texture, as in actually repainting it, I increase the file size beforehand. This makes it so that the game doesnt have to stretch 512*512 textures across some of the larger gaming screens like 1920 or 2000something. I suggest 1024, as the 2044 (I think?) can seriously chew up the graphics memory if you have a heaping ton of them loaded. Unless you have a beast of a computer. luddemann
Thanks for quick reply. Noob question: How do you increase the file size? Just use the crop tool and enlarge and paint on top?

Unless you have a beast of a computer. Not to mention that most of the time it is wasted memory. Most monitors don't even have a resolution that can view such a big texture at 100%, meaning that they are loading often twice or thrice as much as they really need to. And yes, the way to make HD textures is to completely redo them - Just upscaling looks awful, never ever do that for any reason.
