RaffTheSweetling Posted September 13, 2016 Share Posted September 13, 2016 I am having a lot of trouble with a flickering texture on these 2 objects: MetalIntStairsStr01MetalIntStairsStr02 I first need to determine if the texture is flickering for anyone else. Specifically it is the texture of the ground/floor sections, which uses the bldcarpetdeco01alpha.bgsm material. I can't seem to fix this flickering texture. I have tried replacement materials, and even made a new d.dds without alpha. The flickering persists. The flickering looks like there are two objects overlapping - z-fighting, but there is nothing else occupying the space. It seems like the asset is being rendered with two overlapping materials at the same time - concrete+carpeting. I really need help to figure this out. I would like to replace the texture, and so far I have easily done this using a simple material swap, but the flickering did not desist when I did so. I know nothing about this stuff, but I'm assuming it's a slightly faulty .nif file, where the dimensions are either broken, or the .bgsm file doesn't line up correctly. I'm assuming someone like Ethreon would be able to help you with this. I haven't used NifSkope or anything like it, so probably can't help right now bud, sorry. radiumskull Posted September 14, 2016 Share Posted September 14, 2016 Raff, there are some CK assets which display Z-fighting all on their own, when nothing else is intersecting them. Take a look at the 'BldConcBgWall' objects to see what I mean. They look fine in-game, but they look effed up in CK. I'm not sure why this is, but it's apparently the way they're supposed to be. RaffTheSweetling Posted September 15, 2016 Author Share Posted September 15, 2016 Sure I know about that issue mate, :) but this flickering appears in the game (see second photo) which is what I'm trying to figure out. Around Super Duper Mart (forgot that towns name) the ruined buildings have rooftops where I see this flickering a lot. The weird thing is the flickering stopped when I reloaded my CK yesterday.
