Freeze on loadup screen...

Ok, so here's the problem. I have been experiencing problems with the game freezing on the loadup screen (the one with the skyrim logo). It loads the bethedsta splash screen, i have audio, but when it gets to the skyrim logo screen, it stops before the menu options appear (New Game, Continue, Options, etc.). I have gotten it to load a couple of times, played wonderfully the first couple of days, but lately i can't get anywhere. The only mods that I'm running are the val's crafting and the ore retexture mods. I have tried the 4gb mod, but it freezes in the same spot as the vanilla model. I don't think that it's my connection, I can run mmo's on full settings with no problems whatsoever (Aion). I have uninstalled and reinstalled the game numerous times, and same problem. Upon closing, i can't Alt+Tab my way out of the screen, i have to end up force closing the game. I tried to go back into the game after going to the task manager, and it goes into window mode and does not load, just a black screen with the cursor. I've taken the mods out of the data file, and still no difference. Installed the latest drivers for flash/gpu/steam, cleaned my hard drive twice, etc. The "sound settings" change didn't work, have all mine set to the recommended ones that I've seen (the lowest sound settings). The couple of times that I've played it I love the game, and they're supposedly coming out with a giant patch next week, but anything sooner would be a lot more helpful. Steam's taking up over 50% of my cpu useage as well, causing it to run slow lately. Thanks for the time to read this, I know that it's wordy, just wanted to make sure I got everything. Tried search and nothing really came up.

apologies, after searching under some of the other fixes/problems, found out that it was the val's crafting mod that was the culprit. funny that taking them out before didn't do the job, but works now. now just to fix the low fps problem that has surfaced... Edited by stmykel
