Jueg
Today, I had a day full of thoughts. I was watching a bunch of videos on youtube and a... horde of thoughts invaded my mind. I have a collection of mod ideas I'd like to share with the ever helpful member of this site. First off, we all know the limited number specializations for each class and let's admit it some of them suck. I came up with a specializations. They are as follows; Spirit Mage(if you have a better name in mind, please share): Demons aren't the only ones who can do magic in the Fade. There are other beings of the Fade who can do magic, who can protect themselves from the demons' influence and are willing to lend mortals a hand. It is practically Fade magic. The first ones to discover this were the Dalish elves. They performed and perfected the art so they could protect themselves from magisters of Tevinter. This long-forgotten technique can amplify magical strength and dampen those of the blood mages. Spirits of the Fade, in fact, teach you how to bring your emotions forth and use them as you will. This form of magic requires an infinite source of power. It can be justice, valor or compassion and so on. In a sense, becoming a spirit mage is becoming a fade spirit left to wonder Thedas. Sword Master(despite class' name, this technique can be performed unarmed or even when using ranged weapons... except staves): The warriors of old tell of a secret organzation called Sword Dancers, a group of people who take children and teach them how to fight with utmost dexterity and strength. They were taught how to dodge their opponents attacks and attack with crushing strength. The Sword Dancers haven't been heard of, for decades. They either mysteriously died or went to some other place to continue their operations. One thing is for sure, though, not a single child was kidnapped ever since. Royal Guard(it isn't royal, really, not literally): Some simply rush to attack their foes in a least... unintelligent manner. Some prefer to be less direct and put his companions' safety above his own. This is what it means to be a Royal Guard. A Royal Guard puts his companions' safety above his own and mostly puts himself in danger. Their abilities allow them to reduce damage, split damage done to a party member to the entire party or increase the party's survivability by sacrifing himself. As protective of his companions as he is, a royal guard is helpless when he is the only one standing. The fall of one of his companions enrages the royal guard and increasing his attack and critical damage. This, of course, works the other way around. If it is the royal guard who has fallen, then his companions are enraged. High approval rating increses the effect a little. Low approval, however, has no effect. Trickster: Everyone agrees that taking no damage is better than taking any, which is what the Tricksters do. Trickster are notorious for their being cunning and incredibly annoying. Trickster tend to mock their opponent and make them clumsy. Trickster have knowledge of arcane and use it to dodge opponent's attacks and augment his own. The second idea is Grey Warden abilities. It was expressed early on that in-game becoming a Grey Warden only meant darkspawn can sense you. So I came up with two talents. They are as follows; Smite: Smite is a talent that inflict massive damage to darkspawn. It is basically Peon's Plight that inflicts massive damage to darkspawn but normal to the rest. It is obtained automatically and only available to the Warden. It is twice as powerful when used with Power of Blood abilities. It has a huge cooldown. Dark Intuition: It is basically a talent that allows you to sense darkspawn. Whenever you near a darkspawn, they will show up on your mini-map. It is affected by your survival ability, increasing its range. And a surprise, I came up with a Grey Warden Specialization. Blight-Queller. Blight-Queller: None knows what a Blight-Queller is. Officially they don't exist. A Blight-Queller is a Grey Warden whose soul has been united with Grey Warden spirit after going through a ritual called Call to Darkness. They gain supernatural abilities, become fully immune to the taint, even to that of inside them and become able to understand the darkspawn. There is a catch, however, this unity makes the dreams that they have about the darkspawn get worse and worse each passing day. Making the Grey Warden insane eventually whether they like it or not. Before you start trolling, I need to tell you know nothing of modding, nor do I know anything of the DAO's engine so if you are going to crush my dreams, be sure to do it kindly.
