Character Creation Overhaul issues

I am using CCO in conjunction with Perkus Maximus and its patches. I'm having some fairly minor issues, which I encountered before on a previous install and was able to fix by messing around with load order, but nothing I'm doing now seems to be working. Here's what's happening:

 

-Standing stone sign descriptions are changed from vanilla. I don't have any mods changing signs besides CCO's Permanent Birthsigns, and unchecking that mod doesn't change the descriptions. The actual effects are unchanged.

 

-When selecting the six major skills I can choose the first three normally, but the last three can only be selected from the Warrior screen - it automatically pops up and pressing "back" doesn't work; you have to select three skills from the Warrior screen before proceeding . Also, Ranged Weapons doesn't show up as selectable at all.

 

Anyone else encounter this and know what's going on?

After watching a (somewhat old) tutorial, I'm thinking I don't have Patchus Maximus installed correctly. Re-doing.

No luck after reinstalling and patching, and cleaning, and shuffling mod order. The same issue persists.

 

Much appreciation for any insight into what's up.

I'm having the same issue and have tried all the things mentioned above as well. Pretty frustrating when I want to start a character with archery as a main skill.

Any info on the cause/fixing of this would be awesome.
