Keyboard Input Lag and General Issues

I've had some issues on and off with the Keyboard in Fallout 4. Namely, sometimes when I hold a directional key and then switch directions, the input acts as if I'm still pressing the previous key, so my character continues onward in the same direction until I depress the key and try again.

 

There are some reddit and steam posts regarding this, but nothing definitive. Some say that disabling in-game Vsync and using an alternate method, say your graphics card's options, will solve the issue. So I am wondering if anyone else has had similar issues, or if anyone knows what the culprit is.

 

Just FYI, my keyboard works fine with every other application. I've never experienced this before or since with anything else other than Fallout 4.
