Friends List

I searched for this topic but didn't find it so here goes...

 

I noticed a couple of people added me as a friend but I don't even know these people (at least not under their current user name). I searched the profile looking for a way to prevent this but I didn't find it (or possibly overlooked it). I'm really not comfortable with being added to peoples' friends lists when I don't know them or they know me. It was also disturbing when I received a notification saying that someone had added me as their friend and they haven't even made any posts on the forum.

 

Is there a way to view and remove myself from peoples' lists if I don't want to be there? Also, is there an option to view my own friends list or does that only appear once I've added someone?

I don't know if you can remove yourself from someone's friend list, but there some options you can change:

if your using the dark lay out you can find your name and the menu on the left hand site of the page

from what i gather you cant remove your self from a friends list but you can set up that friends need to be approved by you how you do that though i am not entirely sure

 

and that white layout is so bright meine eyes ! the goggles they do nothink !

I am using the dark layout so that was very helpful. Thank you bluekatt. I don't know why I never noticed that drop down list before. *sigh*

 

I changed my settings so that approval is required but it's too late for the person who had already added me that I don't even know. I saw no way to remove that person (or be removed from his lift) and I don't even know that person.

 

The white is very bright and I can't use it, but at least if other skins use a similar layout and I decide to change it up, I will know to look there too. Thanks pushkatu.

Hi,

 

you can remove persons from your friend list. The best way to do this is using your forum profile. There is a little drop down menu when you click on your name (the button under The Nexus Forums). Click on the entry "Manage your Friends", a list will show up with all the persons in your friend list. Now click on the person you want to remove, the profile page will show up with an entry "Remove me as friend".
