llloyd
So, having not played in forever and a day I decided to pick up NV and play again. But as I had TTW installed I went though NMM, went from mod to mod in the Mods tab, clicked the circle / button to uninstall the mods, had Steam delete the game files, deleted the left over data folder with the TTW files, had Steam reinstall the game files, then I started NMM, and back though the list in the Mods tab I clicked the green check mark to reinstall the mods I wanted making sure to leave out the TTW ones, and had Loot sort the mod list. Tried running it, no go, it gets to the menu, I click "New Game", click "Yes" to the "This will erase any autosaves present." and it drops back to the main menu as if I had clicked "No", even clicked "No" for giggles, same thing. I then deleted the saves folder to get rid of the TTW saves, same thing. I do have NVSE and the NV4gb both installed and, if my memory isn't failing me, I am telling NMM to run the NV4gb as that will run the NVSE too but give me the over 4gb of system memory usable function of the NV4gb. But, yeah, reinstalled the game, reinstalled the mods, sorted the mods, deleted the old saves, and using nvse and nv4gb and it refuses to start a new game. What am I doing wrong here? Edit: Oh! Before I forget, I did go though the Mods tab and updated any mod that showed it had an update available, like Willow I had 1.09 but 1.10 was available so I downloaded 1.10 and used that instead. Same with a few of the other mods. Edited September 17, 2016 by llloyd
Purr4me
nmm keeps backups of all the data, data you thought was removed from the games Main Data folder is still there only now, most assets for those plugins are now Just plainly gone. what your doing here ..does not work this way. each mod that had assets in them, those assets get installed directly into the Games Data folder and over write what ever may be there. That data stays there even if you untick the plugins in NMM. all you have are plugins and no assets for them, possibly even xml types? who knows...looking for things that no longer are there. you need to redownload all the mods and install them as before. the game will not launch if masters are missing way too much data. Oh great, where is this folder? I can't redownload some of the mods. Like WEXT is MIA on the Nexus as an example. Heck, WEXT (Wasteland Expanded) is MIA on the 'net, couldn't even find it with Google. >.<

Mod Organizer Does not risk mod loss. Nmm will, default installs will. I will help you find lost mods if at all possible if the mod you can not find holds that much value to you, but if the data was removed by an admin here, I can't for obvious reasons. "Wasteland Expanded" ? I am unaware of that mod. take all the plugins currently found on your hard drive VIA search the drive by name, you will locate the place NMM stored them, and move them to a secure location Out of NMM's reach, you will find also with in a catch of NMM overwrites, delete all Overwrites as that data was destroyed when you deleted the game. Run the game directly from steam, this should allow the default code to operate correctly. Don't put all your eggs into 1 basket any more.

llloyd
Umm? Why not move the NMM mod folder with all the zips then delete the FO NV NMM folders / uninstall NMM and start over? With those files you should be able to reinstall the mods onto a fresh copy of FO NV? No?

No?That's an even better Idea, most here, will not give up on NMM so I am not going to push the issue, likes and dislikes get involved. do what you want to do, it's your choice. I don't use nmm for this very reason. data loss.
Purr4me
I can also do a data base search by authors name if you know that authors name?
