Keybinds question

Hello !

 

I figured out how keybinds were working, (took some time to realise i had to put an item in favorite list before being able to bind a key to it). My question concern dual wielding. What i would like is to have something like that:

 

1- Single dagger

2- Bow

3- Dual wielding swords (but it seems i can only binds 1 item to a key)

 

How am i supposed to do that ? I can easily swap between bow and dagger, or between bow and dual wielding swords. But if i'm dual-wielding and want to get my dagger, it swap 1 sword for the dagger (so i'm still dual wielding sword+dagger). And if i got my dagger alone, i can't get a keybind for dualwielding (it only swap my dagger for a single sword).

 

I tried to put both swords in keybinds, such as:

 

1- Iron Dagger

2- Bow

3- Iron Sword

4- Iron Sword

 

But if i press 3 to get my iron sword then press 4, instead of equipping both, it swap the first iron sword for the second.

 

So, am i dooing something wrong ? Or is it just not possible (yet) to easily swap between single wield/dual wield using keybinds ?

Yup I have the same issue with my dual war axes, if I bind them both to 1, and you press it, you will equip only one, and if you swap to say dual casting, wich actually works, go figure eh, and then swich back to "1" the hotkey doesn't exist anymore so I have to bind it again, wich is quite annoying when you want to heal yourself, and after I enchanted the axes they were different so like 1 and 2, but again as you said it only equips 1 axe... I really hope someone makes a fix for this

If you have more than one of an item in your inventory e.g. Iron Sword (2)

and key bind them, the binding is lost if you select the item, select something else then try to go back to your original.

 

I have my bow in key 8. Select 8, bow is equipped, but I have say 2 of the same bow, Hunting Bow (2)

 

Then select say key 7 which has a sword, it gets equipped, then select 8 again and nothing. Looking at the bindings, key 8 is lost because I have more than one of the same bow.

 

An annoying bug for sure, but I try to limit the times I get more than one of a weapon that I will be using.

So i'll have to wait for modders/bethesda to fix/improve the keybinds system. At least i'll stop spending time trying to figure out how to do something i just can't do ;)

So... is anyone doing something in that matter? Bethesda won't fix that, because it isn't bug for them. (I've red somewhere that dual wielding keybinds works IF you are using exactly the same swords, hence it aint bugged). Problem is, that the keybinds system is flawed anyway, so... is there a mod of some kind that fix that?

Or aenable you to assign shortcuts to left hand right hand separately?

I'm sure I'm not the only one who would need that.
