The only possibility requires breaking several international laws. You can probably blame those people who thought it funny to install Linex on their Xbox (the first ones) for the more complicated limiters on what you can actually put on your Xbox without having to do anything too illegal.

The Mods themselves are the other side of this. Mods for the 360 (and PS3) are specially formatted to work with those systems. Since the process for converting to this format is something which only Bethsoft has access to, and any attempt to reverse engineer it would likely break a few laws, even if you could install a mod, you couldn't actually use it.

For all I know, the official console mods may have additional requirements as the formatting of data files (bsas) that would prevent even overwrites from working should you be able to apply them.

So in short. No. Not going to ever happen. Just another reason to hate cross platform games. I don't even think hex editors (cheat devices) can be used for the 360 now that I think about it. And they were once a staple of console gaming.

i am blaming the linux people

hex editors were unable to be used on the orginal xbox as well ther are only save disks availble

i did wonder about why the xbox was lacking in said cheat cd's guess i have my awnser

i dont belive reverse engineering it would be entirley illegal as long as the new code is clean and only aproximates what the orginal code does with out copying said code then again after linux was put on the first xbox things did get tightend down

anyway hard drives are becoming the norm on consoles so in a next generation it might be possible or even a feature but from the sound of it not in this one

it could give sony or ms a big one up over the compeition if they do make it availble

just out of idle curiosity i assume its utterly impossible to instal linux or mac os x ( powerpc hardware not intel based hardware) on the 360

I believe it's still possible, google might hold answers, but harder to do, and would probably keep things from working right.
