sirqb11
I like a lot of the Hardcore mode ideas, but some feel too punishing to me without any real benefits. These are my suggestions for adding a little hardcore, but still keeping it a game. Sleeping and eating- I'd like it if being well rested (8+ hrs of sleep) gave a boost to stamina regen for 8-12 hrs and maybe a slight boost to a primary skill or two. There should be more to resting than just avoiding penalty. Same with foods. Certain hearty meals should give a boost to health regen for a few hrs. Some could even act as a boost to carry weight for 4 in game hrs. Imagine having to eat a good meal before lugging that extra bit of gear around. I want players to actually WANT to stay well rested and full instead of just doing it to avoid penalty. I still want stat and regen penalties for neglecting sleep and food, but having some boost added to maintaining would be nice. Health Regen- automatic health regen should stop at 15-20%. I would also slow it down some. Staying well fed would increase health regen rate and max. Letting your character go hungry would slow it down or stop it completely. Personally, i'd like to keep insta potions, but give them a cool down about as long as a shout. I'd increase their effectiveness a lot, but maybe limit to how much you can carry (if possible) to about 5. Potions found in laying around in dungeons will be much weaker than those you can buy, craft or find in a LOCKED chest. I'd remove the starting heal spell, make a player have to buy it. To me it was too OP for a beginning spell. Personally i would also make it so that you had to spend at least a perk point or two in restoration to even use a heal spell. It would require more specialization and commitment to creating a Paladin type warrior
