modder3434 Posted December 5, 2011 Share Posted December 5, 2011 (edited) i was dugeon crawling with my crusader character and Uthgerd as part of the main quest and, we run into a group of three falmer, two usiing magic and swords, we fight i get killed multiple times, when i finally do kill them, i look for Uthgerd and see her laying down in a face pool of her own blood. i thought that companions wouldn't die unless the player dealt the killing blow when they fall to one knee? What's up with that? i'm pissed for two reason, 1. She was carrying dragon bones and some dwnmer armor 2. i was considering marrying her. Handofbane Posted December 5, 2011 Share Posted December 5, 2011 Companions are not essential, they just drop aggro from all hostiles once their health hits a certain point. If they take excess damage in one giant hit they can potentially die, or if they get hit by a one-two combo or multiple opponents swinging at the same time, they can die from the hit that comes after they are sent to their knees (trolls are notorious for this, as they tend to do a one-two power attack strike). My companion got set on fire by a dragon while on her knees,She got battered by multiple mobs while on her knees. I even saw a vid of lydia send to the moon by a giant and land and keeps following. Handofbane Posted December 5, 2011 Share Posted December 5, 2011 Don't know what to tell you there, Snkmarcel - I have successfully had monsters kill my companions on many occasions, and I know it was not me landing the killing hit, as I was on the other side of the room at the time, and neither casting spells nor using AoE attacks. I enjoy seeing how many ways I can get Sven killed, the most effective has been taking him to someplace with more than one troll, then popping an invis potion after pulling them.
