Sudden, ridiculous amount of stuttering.

I have tried the dll fixes, the stutter remover, the 4gb launcher, the water settings, basically everything I have come across and it does not help nor hurt anything. It is exactly the same either way. It was running beautifully the other night. Absolutely perfect, not a single bit of lag and nothing has been changed since then. My computer is by no means one of those high-end gaming computers, but it ran it just fine before and it recommends medium settings and no matter what setting it is on, there's no difference. It ran the exact same on very high as a matter of fact when I used the dll fix for ATI. I am at a loss of how to fix it. It has made it pretty much not playable. Half of the time, when I press a key (for example tab) I have to do it several times. It isn't frozen, it just doesn't respond because it is running so bad.

Have you installed any audio codecs? What music player do your mp3's open in when double click on them? Is ffdshow running while your playing?

Make sure all your drivers are up to date. Graphics, audio, etc. And like Krutz said make sure ffdshow is not running. In fact if you dont need it, remove it from your computer.

Also have you added any more mods recently? Actually how many mods are you running atm?

Does this happen everywhere in game or is it just so bad that you can't even get out of the room your are in?

I have seen bugs where some infinite loop starts in a room, constantly spawning a footprint or effect. Leaving the room solves it (and there are console commands etc. to correct it).

See if you can start a new game, or get out of the room using a centeroncell command (google).
