smorre
hi, i just bought shivering isle, reinstalled oblivion after 2 years, downloaded both MMM and OOO.my problem now is that MMM wont work together with OOO seemingly because oblivions inability to find "Oscuro's_Oblivion_Overhaul.esm". but there is no such file anywhere. i downloaded the 413mb ooo 1.3.exe and it doesnt seem to have the .esm. so oblivion just crashes back to desktop after it showed the bethesta logo for 0.5secs. does my ooo1.3.exe miss the .esm? is it perfectly normal that there is no .esm? if no how do i get the .esm ? maybe there is another way to make it work altogether? thanks in advance
berood001
You didn't read the instructions. Read the instructions! In the data folder you will see Obscuro Oblivion Overhaul folder. OPEN IT. You have to physically move the version of the .esm file into the data folder yourself. There are two versions. I use the full version. You will see a folder for OOO_FULL. Open it. Inside is your .esm file. If you do not put it in the data folder, the mod manager will never find it. That should fix you up. Now since I use FCOM convergence to get OOO, MMM, and Francesco all working together I don't know the exact load order. However I am absolutely sure there are .esp files you need to activate in your mod manager to get these two working together. Perhaps "Mart's Monster Mod for OOO" is a likely canadite you will need. You must read the instructions on this sort of stuff.
smorre
of course i already looked trough the extra OOO folder but OOO-Full only has a .esp file in it. and i also tried mmm for ooo.esp but it did nothing (since it needs the .esm)maybe i should try using FCOM? thanks for your reply

berood001
Well you are correct. I downloaded the same file and looked at it unzipped. No .esm file. I swear it worked for me when I only had OOO loaded on as a mod.. Anyway I do have a possible fix! There is an upgrade you can find. Its called... OOO_132_RC53 There is a .esm file in it that is suppose to overwrite the old OOO one. If you upgrade, everything should take care of itself. FCOM is pretty tough to get working. It hasn't been perfected. However it is very cool. Just so you know the OOO_132_RC53 upgrade is absolutely necesarry for FCOM. Goodluck.

Guest
I am having a similar problem with the conjunction of OOO and MMM, except it is MMM that Oblivion is saying "unable to find masterfile: Mart's Monster Mod.esm". I can't find anyone else with this exact problem but this is pretty close so I will explain it in here. Aside from official mod/plugins like Shivering Isles, Frostcrag, the Orrery etc, I am only using Rez's Mannequin Mod, Dimensional Pocket of Ether, OOO and MMM. I have an .esm for both OOO and MMM, I am not missing one of them in my case. My load order has the official .esps first followed by Rez's and Dim Pocket and then OOO and MMM lastly. The OOO and MMM .esm files are checked in the mod manager, as well as the .esps for both OOO and 'MMM for OOO'. When I start up Oblivion, just as the Bethesda logo is coming up (so essentially almost immediately after I launch the game), a message appears "Unable to find masterfile: Mart'sMonsterMod.esm" and then the game exits. I an unable to find anything in regards to this problem, although I have found stuff about similar problems in regards to Oblivion.esm and the OOO esm files. Usually, people just forget to check them in the mod manager, or there is some order issue or patch required. However I have OOO v1.33 which is said in the MMM readme to be what is required (well at least 1.32) for MMM v3.53.So in summary, I have OOO 1.33, MMM 3.53, their .esms exist and are checked, and the correct .esps are checked. Also according to load order recommendations, I have MMM load after OOO. I can't see what I would be doing wrong, and it seems odd to me that Oblivion would say MMM's .esm is missing when i clearly have it checked in the mod manager. Thanks for any help in advance!
