tom1016
After two days of researching, testing, adjusting, testing, ect. I have managed to find a fix for the 360 gamepads accelaration and lag. You can find the fix for lag everywhere, "disable vsync, insert antilagfix" all that good stuff. What drove me crazy however was the slowing of the Y axis and the slow to extremely fast movement of the look sensitivity. Which basically means if you move the right analog stick slightly it moves extremely slow, however if you move it slightly farther your screen spins round and round. I don't ever post, but after so much googling and no results I figured I would try and help out. All I did was compile certain ini settings not seen in the original.http://pastebin.com/Dz9sh35g To fix Y axis, under [Control] I changed the X and Y axis settings to: fGamepadHeadingYScale=1.5000fGamepadHeadingXScale=0.8500 As to fix the slow to fast acceleration, I figured equal on everything was my best bet. So I dug this out of the skyrimpref.ini hoping these settings would help. These are original settings: fRThumbDeadzone=0.2650fLThumbDeadzone=0.2400fDirectionalDeadzone=0.5000fLookGraphY4=0.6000fLookGraphX4=0.9000fLookGraphY3=0.3000fLookGraphX3=0.8000fLookGraphY2=0.2000fLookGraphX2=0.6000fLookGraphY1=0.1000fLookGraphX1=0.4000iNumLookGraphSettings=4fMoveGraphY3=0.9000fMoveGraphX3=0.9000fMoveGraphY2=0.5000fMoveGraphX2=0.7000fMoveGraphY1=0.1000fMoveGraphX1=0.2000iNumMoveGraphSettings=3fHeadingAxisDeadzone=0.1500fMovementAxisDeadzone=0.1500fMaxLookRampUpDelta=0.1300fMaxMoveRampDownDelta=500.0000fFreezeDirectionDefaultSpeedThreshold=100.0000fFreezeDirectionDefaultAngleThreshold=60.0000bFreezeDirectionOnLargeDelta=1 I adjusted them to this: fRThumbDeadzone=0.0000fLThumbDeadzone=0.0000fDirectionalDeadzone=0.0000fLookGraphY4=0.1000fLookGraphX4=0.1000fLookGraphY3=0.1000fLookGraphX3=0.1000fLookGraphY2=0.1000fLookGraphX2=0.1000fLookGraphY1=0.1000fLookGraphX1=0.1000iNumLookGraphSettings=4fMoveGraphY3=0.1000fMoveGraphX3=0.1000fMoveGraphY2=0.1000fMoveGraphX2=0.1000fMoveGraphY1=0.1000fMoveGraphX1=0.1000iNumMoveGraphSettings=3fHeadingAxisDeadzone=0.0000fMovementAxisDeadzone=0.0000fMaxLookRampUpDelta=0.1300fMaxMoveRampDownDelta=500.0000fFreezeDirectionDefaultSpeedThreshold=100.0000fFreezeDirectionDefaultAngleThreshold=100.0000bFreezeDirectionOnLargeDelta=1 So far these settings have worked like a chram no input lag, and no slow to fast acceleration. Hope these help you as well, and please post what works for you as well I'm always open for improvement.
Tomfrufru
worked for me thanks, but i had to manually input all of that into my ini as i didnt have it
Danz4iveR
WARNING! I just did this and it did help to some extent but the acceleration was still there so I deleted all those lines from my ini file. Then when I went back to using mouse it lagged like hell! I have everything disabled(mouse acceleration, vsync, 360 controller), but it still lags! Every movement comes like 1 second late. I did not have this problem before I tried this fix!!! MagoBuono
Hi there. I'm sorry for sort of necro-posting but this thread is the only one (of all of them that i googled) that describes my problem with gamepad exactly as it is. Sad part of story that this solution does really nothing to gamepad acceleration for me. If anyone know maybe bethsoft changed settings for gamepad somehow or there is another solution for too-slow-too-fast acceleration for right controller stick? It's really almost unplayable with default settings :(
Phorusx
Isn't Bethesda one lazy SOB seriously. Why is it that almost every other game developer even minecraft guys are capable of making easy to use settings to fix and adjust these things. Then instead of freakin putting out a guide they put out a remaster of the same exact freaking game. This issue has been around for a while now
Uvithryn
I know this thread's dead, but felt I needed to point out that these ini edits belong in Skyrim.ini NOT SkyrimPrefs.ini Also, after playing around with the settings a bit, I found that these two tweaks did more for me than all of the other settings: [Controls]fRThumbDeadzone=0.10fMaxLookRampUpDelta=1.00 I put those in my Skyrim.ini and now my steam controller's "Mouse like Joystick" setting feels awesome!
