WoogieMonster
The game crashing when you click your mouse:There may be a few different things that can cause this, but the one people never suspect (and also the easiest one to test) is your instant messenger. Specifically, Xfire or another in-game messenger. For some reason, when using Xfire your desktop mouse cursor stays active while Oblivion is running. Worse is that the two cursors are never in the same place at the same time, they move at drastically different speeds, and they both respond to the movement and clicks of the mouse. So if you click in the game, you are also clicking on the desktop and if you click an icon or the start button, Oblivion will crash. Putting Oblivion in the background:I do not know exactly why, but everyone seems to agree that "alt-tabbing" out of Oblivion is an extremely bad idea. You ever seen a movie where someone has a really overbearing girlfriend or boyfriend that absolutely MUST be with them at every single moment or else they go ballistic? Oblivion is the same way, if you are playing and need to do something else, you have to shutdown the game first or else it throws a temper-tantrom. bben46
There is also a conflict with a Hewlet Packard printer driver that has been known to cause the black screen. To get rid of it you need to disable the driver before you start the game. Also, anything that is running at the same time, such as an antivirus program or instant messaging, or any scheduled process, such as a program that tries to go line to check for an update, even if you are offline will crash Oblivion. Like woogie says, Oblivion dosn't play well with other programs. By the way, your English grammar is better than most 13 year old American kids I know. I would never have guessed that it wasn't your native language.

Yes i am running xfire , I had no idea that would cause problems but now i know, Thanks Woogie. I'm using a hewlett packard drive but the black screen bug is not that common so for me it's not worth shutting down all my programs etc...Thanks for the info and compliment , I really appreciate that :) Anyways Let's hope bethsda make their next game a bit more compatible with....Ehh everyting ;P
